Abstract

According to an aspect of the present invention, there is provided a pickleball paddle, comprising: carbon fiber, wherein the carbon fiber forms a single body head and handle; and a foam piece covering the carbon fiber handle, wherein: the carbon fiber runs to the edges of the head; and rubberized paint is applied to the edges of the carbon fiber head to define the boundaries of the paddle.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A pickleball paddle, comprising:
carbon fiber, wherein the carbon fiber forms a single body head and handle; and a foam piece covering the carbon fiber handle, wherein: the carbon fiber runs all the way to the edges of the head; and rubberized paint is applied to the edges of the carbon fiber head to define the boundaries of the paddle.

2 . The paddle of claim 1 , further comprising an adhesive applied to the foam piece covering the raw carbon fiber handle.

3 . The paddle of claim 2 , further comprising a top grip layer wrapping around the foam piece and secured by the adhesive.

4 . A method of manufacturing a pickleball paddle, comprising:
heating carbon fiber to a pliable forming temperature; forming the carbon fiber to a head and handle shape in a mold.

5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising trimming the raw carbon fiber to create a boundary defining the edges of the head.

6 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising applying rubberized paint to the boundary of the head portion.

7 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising applying a foam layer to the handle portion of the raw carbon fiber.

8 . The method of claim 7 , further comprising applying an adhesive to the foam layer.

9 . The method of claim 8 , further comprising:
wrapping a top grip layer around the foam piece; and securing the top grip layer by the adhesive applied to the foam piece.
