Hard hat having integral misting system

Abstract

A hard hat, including a hat base having a shell, a reservoir disposed within at least a portion of the hat base to store at least one liquid therein, a distribution system disposed within at least a portion of the hat base, the distribution system including an electric pump connected to the reservoir to extract the at least one liquid from the reservoir, and a flexible conduit disposed at a first end on at least a portion of the reservoir and at a second end on at least a portion of the electric pump to direct the at least one liquid from the reservoir to the electric pump, and a misting unit disposed within at least a portion of the hat base to receive the at least one liquid from the distribution system and create a mist therefrom.

1 . A hard hat, comprising:
 a hat base having a shell;   a reservoir disposed within at least a portion of the hat base configured to store at least one liquid therein;   a distribution system disposed within at least a portion of the hat base, the distribution system comprising:
 an electric pump connected to the reservoir configured to extract the at least one liquid from the reservoir, and 
 a flexible conduit disposed at a first end on at least a portion of the reservoir and at a second end on at least a portion of the electric pump configured to direct the at least one liquid from the reservoir to the electric pump; and 
   a misting unit disposed within at least a portion of the hat base at a rear portion of the hard hat such that the misting unit is configured to receive the at least one liquid from the distribution system and create a mist from the misting unit, the misting unit comprising:
 a plurality of dispensing conduits, each of the plurality of dispensing conduits disposed at a first end on at least a portion of the electric pump configured to receive the at least one liquid and direct the at least one liquid away from the electric pump and away from the hard hat, and 
 a plurality of swivel misting nozzles disposed below the hat base and detached from the hat base, such that each of the plurality of swivel misting nozzles are disposed at a second end of at least one of the plurality of dispensing conduits such that the plurality of swivel misting nozzles are configured to dispense the at least one liquid from each of the plurality of swivel misting nozzles as the mist in a direction at least partially back towards the hard hat so that a user wearing the hard hat received the mist on at least a portion of a back of a neck of the user. 
   
     
     
         2 . The hard hat of  claim 1 , wherein the reservoir is disposed at a position at a center of the shell defined between a top of the shell and a bottom of the shell, the bottom of the shell disposed at a distance furthest from the top of the shell. 
     
     
         3 . The hard hat of  claim 1 , wherein the distribution system further comprises:
 a sealable access port disposed on at least a portion of the reservoir to prevent backflow of the at least one liquid into the reservoir.

         5 . The hard hat of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of swivel misting nozzles is configured to oscillate in a first rotational direction or a second rotational direction. 
     
     
         6 . The hard hat of  claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of swivel misting nozzles is configured to generate the mist prior to the at least one liquid being dispensed. 
     
     
         7 . The hard hat of  claim 1 , wherein the misting unit comprises:
 a plurality of attached clips disposed on at least a portion of at least one of the plurality of dispensing conduits.   
     
     
         8 . The hard hat of  claim 7 , wherein each of the plurality of attached clips is configured to detachably connect to the hat base. 
     
     
         9 . The hard hat of  claim 7 , wherein the hard had further comprises an adjustment strap within the hat base, and wherein each of the plurality of attached clips is configured to detachably connect to the adjustment strap.
