Abstract

A radiator heater cover includes a back panel and a top panel comprising a plurality of solid areas attaching the back panel to the top panel at a plurality of locations and defining a plurality of open areas therebetween. A plurality of standoff ribs is formed on an inner surface of the top panel, where each of the plurality of standoff ribs extends down in one of the plurality of solid areas, wherein spaces between the standoff ribs and corresponding ones of the open areas form a plurality of heat flow channels that allow heat from the radiator to flow out of the cover. A front panel connected to the top panel and extends over a front surface of the radiator.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A radiator heater cover comprising:
 a) a back panel;   b) a top panel comprising a plurality of solid areas attaching the back panel to the top panel at a plurality of locations and defining a plurality of open areas therebetween;   c) a plurality of standoff ribs formed on an inner surface of the top panel, each of the plurality of standoff ribs extending down in one of the plurality of solid areas, wherein spaces between the standoff ribs and corresponding ones of the open areas form a plurality of heat flow channels that allow heat from the radiator to flow out of the radiator heater cover; and   d) a front panel connected to the top panel, the front panel extending over a front surface of the radiator.   
     
     
         2 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the radiator heater cover comprises a baseboard radiator heater cover. 
     
     
         3 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein a ratio of the solid areas to the open areas is equal to or greater than one. 
     
     
         4 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein a ratio of the solid areas to the open areas is less than one. 
     
     
         5 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein a length of the front panel is less than a length of the radiator. 
     
     
         6 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the front panel comprises a plurality of apertures proximate to the top panel. 
     
     
         7 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the front panel comprises a plurality of aperture proximate to a bottom of the front panel. 
     
     
         8 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of standoff ribs is formed of polycarbonate. 
     
     
         9 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the top panel is formed of polycarbonate. 
     
     
         10 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the back panel, top panel, plurality of standoff ribs, and front panel are formed of polycarbonate. 
     
     
         11 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein the top panel and the front panel are formed of different materials. 
     
     
         12 . The radiator heater cover of  claim 1 , wherein plurality of standoff ribs and the top panel are formed of different materials.
