Abstract

A bassinet assembly and system including locking assemblies (e.g., locking components and/or portions) that may lock a bassinet to a child support structure such as a sleep structure (e.g., playard, pack-n-play, etc.), stroller, or the like are provided. The bassinet may include a spring-loaded lock or a clasping assembly to removably connect the bassinet to a child support structure such as a playard. The bassinet may include various base supports and the locking component may be positioned on the base support. The bassinet may additionally or alternatively be collapsible and expandable for attachment to a stroller. The collapsible bassinet may include side supports to maintain the bassinet in an expanded state.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

a rigid bottom portion; a side wall coupled to the rigid bottom portion; a locking component configured to move between (i) a first position configured to couple the bassinet to the child support structure, and (ii) a second position configured to decouple the bassinet from the child support structure; and a base support coupled to the rigid bottom portion and configured to support the bassinet assembly.

2 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein the child support structure is a sleep structure having a base, a plurality of walls coupled to the base, and an upper support coupled to the plurality of walls.

3 . The bassinet assembly of claim 2 , wherein the base of sleep structure has at least one button protrusion and wherein the locking component includes at least one button receiver coupled to the base support and configured to removably couple to the button protrusion.

4 . The bassinet assembly of claim 2 , wherein the base of the sleeping structure has at least one set of interlocking teeth and wherein the locking component includes a sleeve configured to secure the base support to the base of the sleeping structure and has at least a second set interlocking teeth configured to removably couple to the first set of interlocking teeth.

5 . The bassinet assembly of claim 3 , wherein the base support has a first tongue and groove portion and the base of the sleeping structure has a second tongue and groove portion configured to interface with the first tongue and groove portion to removably couple the base support to the base.

6 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base support has hinged legs or telescoping legs and each leg is configured to transition between a first height and a second height.

7 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein the side wall is non-rigid and configured to transition between an expanded position and a non-expanded position.

8 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein child support structure is a stroller and the locking mechanism is a stroller attachment portion configured to removably couple the bassinet assembly to the stroller.

9 . The bassinet assembly of claim 8 , wherein the stroller attachment portion is configured to rotate between a first position and a second position with respect to the rigid bottom and is biased to move to the second position.

10 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base support comprises four legs configured to transition between a first position beneath the rigid bottom portion and a second position with extending beyond the rigid bottom portion.

11 . The bassinet assembly of claim 1 , wherein the base support includes a first wall and a second wall and wherein each of the first wall and the second all are configured to transition between a first position beneath the rigid bottom portion and a second position extending beyond the rigid bottom portion.

12 . A bassinet assembly for supporting a user, the bassinet assembly comprising:
a rigid bottom portion; a side wall coupled to the rigid bottom portion; a locking component coupled to the rigid bottom portion and configured to move between (i) a first position configured to couple the bassinet to the sleeping structure, and (ii) a second position configured to decouple the bassinet from the sleeping structure, the sleeping structure comprising a base, a plurality of walls coupled to the base, and an upper support coupled to the plurality of walls; wherein the locking component comprises a resilient component configured to bias the locking component in the first position.

13 . The bassinet assembly of claim 12 , further comprising a handle connected to the locking component and configured to transition the locking component between the first position and the second position.

14 . The bassinet assembly of claim 13 , wherein the locking component comprises a first arm and a second arm configured grasp the upper support of the sleeping structure and wherein the handle is configured to move the first arm and the second arm from an open position to a closed position over the upper support of the sleeping structure.

15 . The bassinet assembly of claim 13 , wherein one or both of the first arm and the second arm is connected to the resilient component at one end.

16 . The bassinet assembly of claim 13 , wherein the first arm and the second arm each form a gear configured to interface at a first end of each respective first arm and second arm and the handle is configured to obstruct movement of the first arm and the second arm in a first handle position and configured to permit movement of the first arm and the second arm in a second handle position.

17 . The bassinet assembly of claim 12 , wherein the locking component includes at least one support arm coupled to the rigid bottom portion and configured to extend into an arm receiving area of the upper support of the sleeping structure.
