Mandrel with integrated centralizer

Abstract

A gas lift mandrel with centralizing rings. The centralizing rings are integral the exterior of a tubular gas lift mandrel. The centralizing rings minimize the gas lit mandrel from being offset from the central axis of the wellbore. The centralizing rings also aid in torsional rotation and alignment to tools or the string below.

I claim: 
     
         1 . A gas lift mandrel comprising a centralizing ring and a ring guide. 
     
     
         2 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 1  wherein the ring guide is on an exterior surface of a tubular mandrel body. 
     
     
         3 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 1  wherein the ring guide is partially enclosed within the ring. 
     
     
         4 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 1  wherein the ring guide has an interior volume. 
     
     
         5 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 1  further comprising a second centralizing ring and a second ring guide. 
     
     
         6 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 5  wherein the second ring guide comprises two elongated angled flanges. 
     
     
         7 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 5  wherein the second ring guide is partially enclosed within the second ring. 
     
     
         8 . The gas lift mandrel of  claim 6  wherein the two elongated angled flanges of the second ring guide form a volume.
