Abstract
A golf ball including an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface, at least one core, at least one mantle layer, at least one cover layer, and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the images being provided with at least two contrasting colors, wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.18 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.18 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.

at least one core; at least one cover layer; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the images being provided with at least two non-white colors; wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.
2 . The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.02 and 0.9, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.02 and 0.9, a slope value of between −2 and 2, and an intercept value between 10 and 70.
3 . The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.03 and 0.9, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.03 and 0.9, a slope value of between −2 and 2, and an intercept value between 10 and 70.
4 . The golf ball of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of images each have a slope value of between −1.5 to 1.5 and an intercept value between 15 and 65.
5 . The golf ball of claim 1 , wherein the golf ball has between 1 and 20 Major Peaks or between 1 and 20 Major Valleys.
6 . A golf ball comprising an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface;
at least one core; at least one cover layer; a base color located on the outer surface; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the plurality of images being provided with a first non-white color and a second non-white color, the first non-white color and the second non-white color have an absolute value difference between CIELab L values of between 5 to 70 and an absolute value difference between CIELab “b” values of between 5 and 90; wherein the first non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 30 and 90 is provided, and wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.
7 . The golf ball of claim 6 , wherein the first non-white color and the second non-white color have an absolute value difference between CIELab a values of between 3 and 50.
8 . The golf ball of claim 6 , wherein the second non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 1 and 15 is provided.
9 . The golf ball of claim 6 , wherein the second non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 25 and 75 is provided.
10 . A golf ball comprising an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface;
at least one core; at least one cover layer; a base color located on the outer surface; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the plurality of images being provided with a first non-white color and a second non-white color, the first non-white color and the second non-white color have an absolute value difference between CIELab L values of between 5 to 70 and an absolute value difference between CIELab “b” values of between 5 and 90; wherein the first non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 25 and 75 is provided, and wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.
11 . A golf ball comprising an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface;
at least one core; at least one cover layer; a base color located on the outer surface; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the plurality of images being provided with a first non-white color and a second non-white color, the first non-white color and the second non-white color have a ΔE*ab value relative to the base color of the ball that is between 40 and 100, wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.
12 . The golf ball of claim 11 , wherein the first non-white color and the second non-white color have a ΔE*ab value relative to the base color of the ball that is between 60 and 90.
13 . A golf ball comprising an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface;
at least one core; at least one cover layer; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the images being provided with at least two contrasting colors; wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.018 and 1, a slope value of between −5 and 5, and an intercept value between 5 and 80.
14 . The golf ball of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.02 and 0.9, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.02 and 0.9, a slope value of between −2 and 2, and an intercept value between 10 and 70.
15 . The golf ball of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of images each have a Major Peak Ratio of between 0.03 and 0.9, a Major Valley Ratio of between 0.03 and 0.9, a slope value of between −2 and 2, and an intercept value between 10 and 70.
16 . The golf ball of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of images each have a slope value of between −1.5 to 1.5 and an intercept value between 15 and 65.
17 . The golf ball of claim 13 , wherein the golf ball has between 1 and 20 major peaks or between 1 and 20 major valleys.
18 . A golf ball comprising an outer surface having dimples located on the outer surface;
at least one core; at least one cover layer; a base color located on the outer surface; and a plurality of images located on the outer surface, the plurality of images being provided with a first non-white color, a second non-white color and a third non-white color, the first non-white color and the second non-white color have an absolute value difference between CIELab L values of between 5 to 70, an absolute value difference between CIELab “a” values of between 3 and 50, and an absolute value difference between CIELab “b” values of between 5 and 90;
wherein the first non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 30 and 90 is provided,
and each image is at least partially tessellated.
19 . The golf ball of claim 18 , wherein the third non-white color having an absolute value difference in CIELab L value (|ΔL|), relative to the base color of the ball, of between 25 and 75 is provided.
