Abstract
A shoe upper for a shoe, in particular a sports shoe, is provided having a first portion and a second portion that are jointly manufactured as a knitted fabric, wherein only one of the first portion and the second portion the knitted fabric is reinforced by a coating of a polymer material applied to the shoe upper.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedThat which is claimed is:
1 . A shoe upper for a shoe, comprising:
a base area and a toe area coupled to the base area manufactured as a one-piece knitted fabric, wherein the base area comprises a first layer and a second layer comprising weft knit yarn, and monofilament disposed between the first layer and the second layer, and wherein the toe area is reinforced relative to the base area.
2 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the toe area comprises melted fuse yarn.
3 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the toe area comprises a plurality of layers.
4 . The shoe upper of claim 3 , wherein the toe area comprises a weft knit yarn layer and a monofilament layer.
5 . The shoe upper of claim 4 , wherein the monofilament layer is melted.
6 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the toe area comprises a greater density of stitches than the base area such that the toe area is reinforced relative to the base area.
7 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the toe area comprises a polymer coating such that the toe area is reinforced relative to the base area.
8 . The shoe upper of claim 7 , wherein only the toe area comprises a polymer coating.
9 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the toe area is three dimensionally molded.
10 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the base area comprises a plurality of apertures formed in the first layer.
11 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the base area is disposed in a forefoot of the upper.
12 . The shoe upper of claim 1 , wherein the base area is disposed in a forefoot and a heel area of the upper.
13 . An article of footwear, comprising:
a sole; and an upper coupled to the sole, the upper comprising:
a base area and a toe area coupled to the base area manufactured as a one-piece knitted fabric,
wherein the base area comprises a first layer and a second layer comprising weft knit yarn, and a monofilament layer disposed between the first layer and the second layer, and
wherein the toe area is reinforced relative to the base area.
14 . The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the toe area comprises a plurality of layers.
15 . The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the toe area comprises melted fuse yarn.
16 . The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the first layer is connected to the second layer by stitches such that the stretchability of the first layer is reduced.
17 . The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the first layer comprises a plurality of apertures.
18 . The article of footwear of claim 17 , wherein the stitch diameter of the monofilament layer is larger than the stitch diameter of the first layer such that the plurality of apertures of the first layer are not closed and air flow through the apertures is possible.
19 . The article of footwear of claim 13 , wherein the toe area comprises a polymer coating such that the toe area is reinforced relative to the base area.
20 . The article of footwear of claim 19 , wherein only the toe area comprises a polymer coating.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
