Fence post flush mount
Abstract
A fence post mount device comprising: a base having at least one cavity; a first universal collet having a plurality of collet legs attached to each other through at least one of a plurality of separation notches, wherein a distal end of the first universal collet is inserted into the cavity from a proximal end of the base; a first cap nut inserted into the first universal collet; a post inserted into the cavity of the base; a full thread nut threaded into the first cap nut from a distal end of the base through an opening, wherein each of the plurality of separation notches are broken when the full thread nut is tightened into the first cap nut and each of the collet legs of the first universal collet deforms an inner wall of the post such that the post is securely locked within the cavity of the base.

21 . A fence post mount device comprising:
a base comprising a cavity; a collet comprising collet legs attached by separation notches therebetween; a first cap nut; and a threaded nut; wherein a proximal end of the collet is positioned in the cavity and the first cap nut is positioned at a distal end of the collet within a central opening formed by the collet legs; wherein the threaded nut is positioned through an opening in a distal end of the base, through the central opening of the collet, and engages a threaded aperture in the first cap nut;
wherein collet is configured such that tightening the threaded nut causes the separation notches to break and forces the collet legs against an inner wall of a post received within the cavity and circumscribing the collet.
22 . The device of claim 21 , wherein the threaded nut extends one to two inches from the first cap nut in a fully tightened position.
23 . The device of claim 21 , wherein at least one of the collet legs applies force on an inner wall of the collet to enable the one or more separation notches to be broken.
24 . The device of claim 21 , wherein an angled depression enables the collet to deform the inner wall of the post.
25 . The device of claim 21 , wherein tightening the threaded nut enables the collet legs to be pushed toward the inner wall of the post.
26 . The device of claim 25 , wherein at least one of the collet legs provide a tighter fit for the post inside the cavity of the base.
27 . The device of claim 21 , further comprising:
a longitudinal groove that provides an area to position to the threaded nut.
28 . The device of claim 27 , wherein the longitudinal groove is positioned at a center of a second cap nut.
29 . A fence post mount device comprising:
a base comprising a cavity; a collet comprising collet legs, wherein the collet legs each include a slanted inner wall; a first cap nut; and a threaded nut; wherein the collet is positioned in the cavity and the first cap nut is positioned within a central opening of the collet formed by the collet legs; wherein the threaded nut is positioned through an opening in the base, through the central opening of the collet, and engages a threaded aperture in the first cap nut;
wherein tightening the threaded nut forces the collet legs against an inner wall of a post received within the cavity and circumscribing the collet.
30 . The device of claim 29 , further comprising:
a plurality of separation notches that break in response to tightening the threaded nut to enable the collet legs to be pushed toward the inner wall of the post.
31 . The device of claim 29 , wherein the collet legs deform the inner wall of the post.
32 . The device of claim 29 , wherein the threaded nut is tightened into the cap nut to mount the post within the base.
33 . The device of claim 29 , further comprising:
at least one separation notch configured to be broken when the cap nut is tightened.
34 . The device of claim 29 , wherein the angled depression allows the collet to deform the inner wall of the post in response to being tightened by the threaded nut.
35 . The device of claim 34 , wherein the angled depression enables the post to be securely locked into the cavity within the base.
36 . The device of claim 29 , wherein each corner of an inner wall of the cavity of the base comprises an angled depression.
37 . The device of claim 29 , wherein the angled depression enables the inner wall of the post to be deformed to lock the post into the base.
38 . A method of installing a post using a fence post mount device, the method comprising steps of:
providing a base having a cavity configured to receive a fence post, a collet having collet legs with slanted inner walls, a first cap nut configured to engage the slanted inner walls, and a threaded nut; positioning the collet within the cavity of the base; positioning the first cap nut within a central opening of the collet formed by the collet legs; positioning the threaded nut through an opening in the base and through the central opening of the collet, and engaging a threaded aperture in the first cap nut; positioning the fence post within the cavity of the base and circumscribing the collet; and tightening the threaded nut, thereby forcing the collet legs against an inner wall of the post and securing the fence post to the base.
39 . The method of claim 38 , further comprising:
an angled depression that uses the threaded nut to lock the post into the one or more cavities in the base.
40 . The method of claim 39 , further comprising:
