Portable Barrier

Abstract

A portable barrier includes a pedestal assembly including (i) a plurality of legs that are movable with respect to each other, the plurality of legs includes a first lateral leg and a second lateral leg, and (ii) a limiter connected to the first lateral leg and the second lateral leg. The portable barrier further incudes a cover assembly including (i) a plurality of arms that are movable with respect to each other, the plurality of arms include a first lateral arm and a second lateral arm, and (ii) a covering connected to the first lateral arm and the second lateral arm. Also, the portable barrier includes a junction support connected to the first lateral leg. The first lateral arm and the second lateral arm are each supported by the junction support during movement of the portable barrier from a protection mode to a storage mode.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A portable barrier, comprising:
 a pedestal assembly including (i) a plurality of legs that are movable with respect to each other, the plurality of legs includes a first lateral leg and a second lateral leg, and (ii) a limiter connected to the first lateral leg and the second lateral leg;   a cover assembly including (i) a plurality of arms that are movable with respect to each other, the plurality of arms include a first lateral arm and a second lateral arm, and (ii) a covering connected to the first lateral arm and the second lateral arm; and   a junction support connected to the first lateral leg,   wherein the portable barrier is configured to be moved between a protection mode and a storage mode, and   wherein the first lateral arm and the second lateral arm are each supported by the junction support during movement of the portable barrier from the protection mode to the storage mode.   
     
     
         2 . The portable barrier of  claim 1 , wherein the junction support and the first lateral leg are integrally formed together. 
     
     
         3 . The portable barrier of  claim 1 , wherein the junction support and the first lateral leg are fixed in relation to each other. 
     
     
         4 . The portable barrier of  claim 3 , wherein the first lateral arm and the second lateral arm are each pivotally attached to the junction support. 
     
     
         5 . The portable barrier of  claim 4 , wherein:
 the junction support includes a first support segment and a second support segment,   the first support segment is fixedly attached to the first lateral leg, and   the first lateral arm and the second lateral arm are pivotally supported by the second support segment during movement of the portable barrier from the protection mode to the storage mode.   
     
     
         6 . The portable barrier of  claim 5 , wherein the first support segment is integrally formed with the first lateral leg. 
     
     
         7 . The portable barrier of  claim 1 , wherein the limiter includes a floor that extends from the first lateral leg to the second lateral leg. 
     
     
         8 . The portable barrier of  claim 1 , wherein the limiter includes a strap that extends from the first lateral leg to the second lateral leg. 
     
     
         9 . The portable barrier of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the pedestal assembly further includes a leg pivot disk,   the second lateral leg is attached to the leg pivot disk, and   the leg pivot disk pivots in relation to the junction support during movement of the portable barrier from the protection mode to the storage mode.   
     
     
         10 . The portable barrier of  claim 9 , wherein:
 the cover assembly further includes a first arm pivot disk and a second arm pivot disk,   the first lateral arm is attached to the first leg pivot disk,   the second lateral arm is attached to the second leg pivot disk,   the first arm pivot disk pivots in relation to the junction support during movement of the portable barrier from the protection mode to the storage mode, and   the second arm pivot disk pivots in relation to the junction support during movement of the portable barrier from the protection mode to the storage mode.
