Abstract

Described herein are sweat-diverting devices which can be adhered to a wearer by an adhesive. The sweat-diverting devices described here may be adhered over a portion of the face without circumscribing the head. Such sweat-diverting devices may comprise a first leg and a second leg that are joined at a base of the device to form a channel therebetween, where at least a portion of the base is more rigid than the first and second legs such that an acute angle between the first and second legs is maintained when the sweat-diverting device is applied on a wearer's forehead. In some variations, the thickness of the base is greater than the thickness of either of the legs, which may help to maintain a separation between the tips of the legs even when the sweat-diverting device is applied to a wearer's forehead.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 18 . (canceled)

         19 . A system comprising:
a sweat-diverting device configured to be worn on a forehead of a user, the sweat-diverting device comprising a skin-contacting surface; and an adhesive-applying device comprising a first portion configured to hold the sweat-diverting device, and a second portion configured to hold an adhesive.

20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the adhesive comprises an adhesive strip.

21 . The system of claim 20 , wherein the adhesive strip comprises an adhesive layer and a first release liner disposed on the adhesive layer.

22 . The system of claim 21 , wherein the adhesive strip further comprises a second release liner disposed on the adhesive layer such that the adhesive layer is positioned between the first and second release liners.

23 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the adhesive comprises a rubber adhesive, an acrylic adhesive, a silicone adhesive, or combinations thereof.

24 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the sweat-diverting device comprises a first leg coupled to a second leg, and a longitudinal channel between the legs.

25 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the sweat-diverting device further comprises a wicking material disposed within the longitudinal channel.

26 . The system of claim 25 , wherein at least a portion of the wicking material comprises open-cell foam.

27 . The system of claim 25 , wherein at least a portion of the wicking material comprises a closed-cell foam.

28 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the first portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a longitudinal slot configured to retain the first leg of the sweat-diverting device.

29 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the sweat-diverting device comprises one or more alignment openings configured to retain the sweat-diverting device on the adhesive-applying device.

30 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the first portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a first receptacle and the second portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a second receptacle.

31 . The system of claim 19 , wherein the first and second portions of the adhesive-applying device are coupled to each other by a hinge.

32 . The system of claim 19 , further comprising one or more additional adhesives.

33 . The system of claim 32 , wherein the one or more additional adhesives comprises an adhesive strip.

34 . The system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more additional adhesives comprises an adhesive roll.

         35 . A method for applying an adhesive to a sweat-diverting device comprising;
retaining the sweat-diverting device on a first portion of an adhesive-applying device, the sweat-diverting device configured to be worn on a forehead of a user and comprising a skin-contacting surface; retaining the adhesive on a second portion of the adhesive-applying device; and contacting the first portion to the second portion to apply the adhesive to the skin-contacting surface.

36 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the adhesive comprises an adhesive strip.

37 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the first portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a longitudinal slot, and retaining the sweat-diverting device on the first portion comprises inserting a first leg of the sweat-diverting device into the longitudinal slot.

38 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the first portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a first receptacle and the second portion of the adhesive-applying device comprises a second receptacle having a recess, and contacting comprises inserting the first receptacle into the recess of the second receptacle.

39 . The method of claim 35 , wherein the first and second portions of the adhesive-applying device are coupled to each other by a hinge, and contacting comprises pivoting the first portion toward the second portion.

40 . The method of claim 35 , further comprising reapplying the adhesive to the sweat-diverting device after removing previous adhesive therefrom.

         41 . A system comprising:
an adhesive-applying device comprising a first portion configured to hold a sweat-diverting device, and a second portion configured to hold an adhesive; and one or more additional adhesives.
