Package for products and method for making such a package

Abstract

A package for one or more products includes a casing and a handle made of paper material. The casing is wrapped around the products in such a way as to define two opposing head surfaces and one peripheral surface. The handle includes a strip of said paper material, defining opposite portions attached to one and the other of the head surfaces respectively, and including a reinforcing element attached to the strip.

Package, for at least one product, comprising a casing and a handle, said casing and said handle being made of paper material, said casing being wrapped around said at least one product in such a manner as to define two opposing end surfaces and a peripheral surface, wherein said handle comprises a strip made of said paper material, defining opposing portions fixed respectively to one and the other of said head surfaces, and comprising a reinforcing element fixed to said strip. 
     
     
         2 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said end surfaces are formed, each, by at least two wrapping flaps folded over each other. 
     
     
         3 . The package according to  claim 2 , wherein at least one of said wrapping flaps is overlapped with a respective end of said handle. 
     
     
         4 . The package according to  claim 3 , wherein said end is arranged between said wrapping flaps. 
     
     
         5 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said reinforcing element has an elongated shape and extends between said opposing portions. 
     
     
         6 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said reinforcing element is obtained by folding a folding flap of said strip over a fold line along the longitudinal extension of the handle. 
     
     
         7 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said reinforcing element is obtained by folding two opposing folding flaps of said strip along a respective fold line along the longitudinal extension of the handle. 
     
     
         8 . The package according to  claim 6 , wherein said fold line is parallel to the longitudinal extension of the handle. 
     
     
         9 . The package according to  claim 6 , wherein said folding flap is attached, when folded, to a central part of said strip by adhesive means. 
     
     
         10 . The package according to  claim 3 , wherein said folding flap has a transverse extension at least equal to between 1/10 and ⅙, of the transverse extension of the handle. 
     
     
         11 . The package according to  claim 3 , wherein said folding flap have a transverse extension not exceeding between ½ and ¼, of the transverse extension of the handle. 
     
     
         12 . The package according to  claim 3 , wherein said reinforcing element is formed by means of an additional strip of said paper material superimposed on said strip and glued to said strip. 
     
     
         13 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said at least one product is shaped like a cylinder, or a flattened cylinder, said at least one product having a main axis, and wherein said handle extends between said opposing end surfaces along a direction parallel to said main axis. 
     
     
         14 . The package according to  claim 1 , wherein said at least one product is at least one of: toilet paper, or absorbent paper. 
     
     
         15 . The package according to  claim 14 , comprising a plurality of products arranged in at least two parallel rows with respect to said main axis, said rows defining an empty volume between the rows of products and said casing when two parallel rows are adjacent therebetween, wherein said handle extends between two adjacent parallel rows in correspondence of said empty volume. 
     
     
         16 . Method for making a package of products according to  claim 1 , the method comprising:
 providing at least one reel of paper material to form the wrapping of said package;   providing at least one reel of a strip of paper material to form the handle of said package;   wrapping said paper material onto said products;   folding at least one folding flap of said strip to obtain said reinforcing element; and   attaching said handle to the head surfaces of the package.   
     
     
         17 . The method according to  claim 16 , wherein folding at least one folding flap comprises rotating said reel in such a manner as to unwind said strip, said at least one folding flap being folded as said strip advances. 
     
     
         18 . The method according to  claim 16 , wherein said handle is attached by heat-sealing.
