Abstract
A modular subbase may comprise an upper surface, a longitudinal supporting structure coupled to the upper surface, one or more outrigger boxes coupled to the longitudinal supporting structure and the upper surface. The longitudinal supporting structure may comprise a wide sheet of metal comprising two upwardly-facing arms and a medial section adapted to be lightweight and to provide structural support to the upper surface. The longitudinal supporting structure and upper surface may comprise struts configured to prevent buckling of the medial section and the upper surface The modular subbase may be configured to couple to one or more modular bodies. The modular bodies may couple directly to the upper surface. A boom-arm pedestal for operating a boom-arm may be integrated into the upper surface and may be structurally supported by the modular subbase.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A subbase for mounting to a utility vehicle chassis, the subbase comprising:
a longitudinal supporting structure configured to couple with the utility vehicle chassis; an upper surface integrally coupled along at least a portion of a length of the longitudinal supporting structure, the upper surface comprising:
a first lateral edge extending beyond the longitudinal supporting structure, the first lateral edge having a first coupling surface; and
a second lateral edge extending beyond the longitudinal supporting structure, the second lateral edge having a second coupling surface; and
at least one modular body compartment removably mounted to the upper surface, the at least one modular body compartment comprising:
a storage cavity configured to extend perpendicularly to the upper surface; and
a lateral extending portion configured to rest on one of the first lateral edge or the second lateral edge.
2 . The subbase of claim 1 , further comprising:
a boom arm pedestal integrally coupled to the longitudinal supporting structure by the upper surface.
3 . The subbase of claim 1 , wherein the longitudinal supporting structure comprises:
a first vertically-oriented sidewall; a second vertically-oriented sidewall opposite the first vertically-oriented sidewall; and a medial portion disposed between the first vertically-oriented sidewall and the second vertically-oriented sidewall.
4 . The subbase of claim 3 , wherein one or more batteries are disposed within a cavity associated with the longitudinal supporting structure, the cavity formed between the first vertically-oriented sidewall, the second vertically-oriented sidewall, and the medial portion.
5 . The subbase of claim 1 , wherein the longitudinal supporting structure comprises two or more longitudinal struts forming a V-shaped structure.
6 . The subbase of claim 5 , wherein the longitudinal supporting structure further comprises a first arcuate trailing edge disposed at a first side of the V-shaped structure and a second arcuate trailing edge disposed at a second side of the V-shaped structure.
7 . The subbase of claim 1 , wherein the at least one modular body compartment is mounted to the upper surface via a mounting bracket coupled to one of the first lateral edge or the second lateral edge.
8 . A subbase for mounting to a utility vehicle chassis, the subbase comprising:
a longitudinal supporting structure configured to couple with the utility vehicle chassis; an upper surface integrally coupled along at least a portion of a length of the longitudinal supporting structure, the upper surface comprising at least one lateral edge extending beyond the longitudinal supporting structure, the at least one lateral edge having a coupling surface; and at least one modular body compartment removably mounted to the upper surface, the at least one modular body compartment comprising a lateral extending portion configured to rest on the at least one lateral edge.
9 . The subbase of claim 8 , wherein the at least one modular body compartment further comprises:
a storage cavity configured to extend perpendicularly to the upper surface.
10 . The subbase of claim 8 , a modular staircase mounted onto the at least one lateral edge.
11 . The subbase of claim 8 , further comprising:
a plurality of threaded holes disposed along the at least one lateral edge, wherein the plurality of threaded holes are configured to receive fasteners for mounting the at least one modular body to the longitudinal supporting structure.
12 . The subbase of claim 11 , wherein the plurality of threaded holes are evenly spaced to accommodate a plurality of modular bodies.
13 . The subbase of claim 8 , wherein a plurality of skid plates are disposed between the longitudinal supporting structure and the utility vehicle chassis.
14 . The subbase of claim 8 , wherein the longitudinal supporting structure comprises:
a first vertically-oriented sidewall; a second vertically-oriented sidewall opposite the first vertically-oriented sidewall; a medial portion disposed between the first vertically-oriented sidewall and the second vertically-oriented sidewall; and a cavity formed between the first vertically-oriented sidewall, the second vertically-oriented sidewall, and the medial portion, the cavity configured to receive one or more lines.
15 . An assembly comprising:
a utility vehicle comprising a utility vehicle chassis; and a subbase mounted to the utility vehicle chassis of the utility vehicle, the subbase comprising:
a longitudinal supporting structure coupled with the utility vehicle chassis;
an upper surface integrally coupled along at least a portion of a length of the longitudinal supporting structure, the upper surface comprising at least one lateral edge extending beyond the longitudinal supporting structure, the at least one lateral edge having a coupling surface; and
at least one modular body compartment removably mounted to the upper surface, the at least one modular body compartment comprising a lateral extending portion configured to rest on the at least one lateral edge.
16 . The assembly of claim 15 , further comprising:
a plurality of outrigger boxes coupled to the utility vehicle chassis via a plurality of chassis brackets.
17 . The assembly of claim 15 , wherein each chassis bracket of the plurality of chassis brackets is configured to adjustably clamp onto the utility vehicle chassis.
18 . The assembly of claim 15 , further comprising:
one or more batteries associated with the utility vehicle, the one or more batteries disposed external to the longitudinal supporting structure.
19 . The assembly of claim 15 , wherein the at least one modular body compartment comprises a storage cavity.
20 . The assembly of claim 15 , further comprising:
