Abstract

A composition containing metal based nanoparticles (X), a polymer (Y), and a dispersion medium, the polymer (Y) being a vinyl polymer having a chain-like alkyl group having 10 to 28 carbon atoms and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, the metal based nanoparticles (X) and the polymer (Y) being dispersed in the dispersion medium, the composition being used as an additive composition for a lubricating oil composition, an additive composition for a grease composition, a lubricating oil composition, or a grease composition.The polymer (Y) is one or more kind selected from the group consisting of a polymer (Y1) that contains two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (ya), a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yb), and a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yc), and a polymer (Y2) that contains a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yb) and does not contain a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (ya) and a constitutional unit derived from the following monomer (yc): monomer (ya): an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, monomer (yb): a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, at least one hydrogen atom of which is substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and monomer (yc): a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group, all hydrogen atoms of which are not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms.

1 . A composition for an additive composition for a lubricating oil composition, an additive composition for a grease composition, a lubricating oil composition, or a grease composition, comprising:
 metal based nanoparticles;   a polymer comprising a vinyl polymer having a chain-like alkyl group having 10 to 28 carbon atoms and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; and a dispersion medium dispersing the metal based nanoparticles and the polymer.   
     
     
         2 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the metal based nanoparticles include at least one of metal based nanoparticles selected from the group consisting of metal nanoparticles including at least one of a metal element selected from the group consisting of transition metal elements, and metal elements and semimetal elements of Groups 12 to 15, nanoparticles including an oxide of the metal element, nanoparticles including a nitride of the metal element, nanoparticles including a sulfide of the metal element, nanoparticles including a carbide of the metal element, and nanoparticles including a boride of the metal element.

The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the polymer includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a polymer including two or more selected from the group consisting of a constitutional unit derived from an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and at least one hydrogen atom substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and a polymer including a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and at least one hydrogen atom substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and does not contain a constitutional unit derived from an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms.

The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the polymer includes the constitutional unit derived from the olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and the constitutional unit derived from the vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         5 . The composition according to  claim 3 , wherein the olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms includes a linear α-olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         6 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group is a monovalent group obtained by removing one hydrogen atom from a pyrrolidone ring. 
     
     
         7 . The composition according to  claim 1 , wherein the composition has a content ratio of the polymer and the metal based nanoparticles in terms of mass ratio of 0.2 or more. 
     
     
         8 . A method for producing the composition of  claim 1 , comprising:
 performing a dispersing treatment of a precursor of the metal based nanoparticles in the presence of the polymer and the dispersion medium,   wherein the dispersion medium includes at least one liquid dispersion medium selected from the group consisting of an organic solvent and a lubricant base oil.   
     
     
         9 . An additive composition for a lubricating oil composition or a grease composition, comprising:
 the composition of  claim 1 ,   wherein the dispersion medium includes at least one selected from the group consisting of an organic solvent and a lubricant base oil.   
     
     
         10 . A wear resistant agent, comprising:
 the composition of claim  9 .   
     
     
         11 . A lubricating oil composition, comprising:
 metal based nanoparticles;   a polymer comprising a vinyl polymer having a chain-like alkyl group having 10 to 28 carbon atoms and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; and   a lubricant base oil dispersing the metal based nanoparticles and the polymer .   
     
     
         12 . The lubricating oil composition according to  claim 11 , wherein the metal based nanoparticles have an average particle diameter of less than 600 nm. 
     
     
         13 . A grease composition, comprising:
 metal based nanoparticles;   a polymer comprising a vinyl polymer having a chain-like alkyl group having 10 to 28 carbon atoms and a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group; and   grease dispersing the metal based nanoparticles and the polymer.   
     
     
         14 . The grease composition according to  claim 13 , wherein the grease composition has a volume resistivity of less than 1.0×10 13  Ωcm. 
     
     
         15 . The grease composition according to  claim 14 , wherein the grease composition prevents electrolytic corrosion. 
     
     
         16 . The composition according to  claim 2 , wherein the polymer includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a polymer including two or more selected from the group consisting of a constitutional unit derived from an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and at least one hydrogen atom substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms, and a polymer including a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and at least one hydrogen atom substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and does not contain a constitutional unit derived from an olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and a constitutional unit derived from a vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         17 . The composition according to  claim 16 , wherein the polymer includes the constitutional unit derived from the olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms and the constitutional unit derived from the vinyl monomer having a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group and all hydrogen atoms not substituted by a chain-like alkyl group having 12 to 30 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         18 . The composition according to  claim 4 , wherein the olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms includes a linear α-olefin having 12 to 30 carbon atoms. 
     
     
         19 . The composition according to  claim 2 , wherein the nitrogen-containing heterocyclic group is a monovalent group obtained by removing one hydrogen atom from a pyrrolidone ring. 
     
     
         20 . The composition according to  claim 2 , wherein the composition has a content ratio of the polymer and the metal based nanoparticles in terms of mass ratio of 0.2 or more.
