Abstract
Described herein is a system and method in a user equipment (UE) supporting registration using third generation partnership project (3GPP) access and using non-3GPP access, the method comprising storing, in a memory of the UE, first emergency information received using first registration procedures; receiving, by the UE, a REGISTRATION ACCEPT message using second registration procedures via non-3GPP access; and keeping, in the memory, the first emergency information after receiving the REGISTRATION ACCEPT message.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A method comprising:
receiving, by a user equipment (UE) in a first country via a first access network type (ANT), from a first access and mobility management function (AMF), a first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message with an extended local emergency numbers list, wherein the extended local emergency numbers list comprises a validity indication; storing the extended local emergency numbers list; receiving, by the UE in the first country via a second ANT, from a different AMF, a second REGISTRATION ACCEPT message without a list of emergency numbers; and discarding the stored extended local emergency numbers list.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein neither the first ANT nor the second ANT is configured to support non-access stratum (NAS) procedures in evolved packet system (EPS).
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first and second REGISTRATION ACCEPT messages are part of an NAS procedure in 5G system (5GS).
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid in a country.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid in a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), and wherein the first AMF is part of a PLMN.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message omits a local emergency number list.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the discarding comprises discarding based on the second ANT being a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access.
8 . A user equipment (UE) configured to:
receive, in a first country via a first access network type (ANT), from a first access and mobility management function (AMF), a first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message with an extended local emergency numbers list, wherein the extended local emergency numbers list comprises a validity indication; store the extended local emergency numbers list; receive, in the first country, via a second ANT, from a different AMF, a second REGISTRATION ACCEPT message without a list of emergency numbers; and discard the stored extended local emergency numbers list.
9 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the first network or the second network is not configured to support non-access stratum (NAS) procedures in evolved packet system (EPS).
10 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the first and the second REGISTRATION ACCEPT messages are part of an NAS procedure in 5G system (5GS).
11 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid for a country.
12 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid for a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), and wherein the first AMF is part of a PLMN.
13 . The UE of claim 8 , wherein the first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message omits a local emergency number list.
14 . The UE of claim 8 , configured to discard the stored extended local emergency numbers list based on the second ANT being a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions which when executed by a user equipment (UE), cause the UE to:
receive, in a first country via a first access network type (ANT), from a first access and mobility management function (AMF), a first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message with an extended local emergency numbers list, wherein the extended local emergency numbers list comprises a validity indication; store the extended local emergency numbers list; receive, in the first country, via a second ANT, from a different AMF, a second REGISTRATION ACCEPT message without a list of emergency numbers; and discard the stored extended local emergency numbers list.
16 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the first and the second REGISTRATION ACCEPT messages are part of a non-access stratum (NAS) procedure in 5G system (5GS).
17 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid for a given country.
18 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the validity indication indicates that the list is valid for a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), and wherein the first AMF is part of a PLMN.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the first REGISTRATION ACCEPT message omits a local emergency number list.
20 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , configured to discard the stored extended local emergency numbers list based on the second ANT being a non-Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) access.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
