Golf Bag with Accessory Rack

Abstract

A bag is described for carrying a set of golf clubs while playing golf and while traveling. The bag includes at least one golf club holding panel with a first face and an opposite second face, the first face comprising sleeves for insertion of shafts of golf clubs. The bag also includes an accessory holding panel with a third face and an opposite fourth face, the third face configured for releasable connection of golf accessories. The at least one golf club holding panel and the accessory holding panel are connected so as to provide a playing mode with the first face and third face facing outward, thus providing access to the golf clubs and access to the golf accessories. They are also connected so as to provide a travel mode with the first face and the third face facing inward, to thus protecting the golf clubs and golf accessories while travelling.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A bag for carrying a set of golf clubs while playing golf and while traveling, the bag comprising:
 at least one golf club holding panel comprising a first face and an opposite second face, the first face comprising sleeves for insertion of shafts of golf clubs;   an accessory holding panel comprising a third face and an opposite fourth face, the third face configured for releasable connection of golf accessories;   wherein the at least one golf club holding panel and the accessory holding panel are connected so as to provide a playing mode with the first face and third face facing outward, thus providing access to the golf clubs and access to the golf accessories, and so as to provide a travel mode with the first face and the third face facing inward, to thus protecting the golf clubs and golf accessories while travelling.   
     
     
         2 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the accessory holding panel comprises vertical slots for removably mounting golf accessories. 
     
     
         3 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the golf accessories each include a tab that is removable inserted into at least one of the vertical slot to position the golf accessories on the accessory holding panel. 
     
     
         4 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the accessory holding panel further comprises an array of openings for removably mounting golf accessories. 
     
     
         5 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the accessory holding panel further comprises an array of clips for attaching golf accessories. 
     
     
         6 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the golf accessories are selected from the group consisting of golf ball holders, rangefinder holders, beverage holders, tee holders, glove holders, umbrellas, towel holders, golf club headcover holders, ball retriever holders, scorecard holders, sunglasses holders, sunscreen holders, first aid kit holders, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         7 . The bag of  claim 1 , comprising a third panel, having a fifth face and an opposite sixth face, the fifth face comprising sleeves for insertion of shafts of golf clubs. 
     
     
         8 . The bag of  claim 7 , comprising a fourth panel, having a seventh face and an opposite eighth face, the seventh face comprising sleeves for insertion of shafts of golf clubs. 
     
     
         9 . A bag for carrying a set of golf clubs while playing golf and while traveling, the bag comprising:
 first, second, third and fourth panels, each of which panels comprises:
 a middle section with first and second opposing faces, and with first and second opposite sides edges; 
 a first wing section extending at a first angle from the first side edge of each panel; 
 a second wing section extending at a second angle from the second side edge of each panel; 
   a first hinge connecting the second wing section of the first panel to the first wing section of the second panel;   a second hinge connecting the second wing section of the second panel to the first wing section of the third panel;   a third hinge connecting the second wing section of the third panel to the first wing section of the fourth panel;   at least one closure releasably connecting the first wing section of the first panel to the second wing section of the fourth panel;   first, second, and third club holding components, each connected to one of the first, second, third and fourth panels, each of the club holding components comprising at least three sleeves for receiving shafts of golf clubs;   a golf accessory rack attached to the one of the first faces of the middle section of the first, second, third and fourth panels that does not have a club holding component attached thereto;   wherein all of the hinges and the closure allow the bag to be folded into a playing mode with the connected wing sections touching each other and the first faces of the middle sections and the club holding components facing outward; and   wherein all of the hinges and the closure also allow the bag to be folded into a travel mode with two of the first, second, third and fourth panels being adjacent with the middle sections and club holding components facing inward and with an other two of the first, second, third and fourth panels are adjacent with the middle sections and club holding components facing inward.   
     
     
         10 . The bag of  claim 1 , wherein the golf accessory rack comprises vertical slots for removably mounting golf accessories. 
     
     
         11 . The bag of  claim 10 , wherein the golf accessories each include a tab that is removable inserted into at least one of the vertical slot to position the golf accessories on the accessory holding panel. 
     
     
         12 . The bag of  claim 9 , wherein the golf accessory rack comprises an array of openings for removably mounting golf accessories. 
     
     
         13 . The bag of  claim 9 , wherein the golf accessory rack further comprises an array of clips for attaching golf accessories. 
     
     
         14 . The bag of  claim 9 , wherein the golf accessories are selected from the group consisting of golf ball holders, rangefinder holders, beverage holders, tee holders, glove holders, umbrellas, towel holders, golf club headcover holders, ball retriever holders, scorecard holders, sunglasses holders, sunscreen holders, first aid kit holders, and combinations thereof.
