Prefabricated above-door cavity conduit routing
Abstract
Prefabricated wall panels simplify the constructive of building units and other structures. The prefabricated wall panels can include a set of conduits pre-installed within the wall panels that enable simplified installation and conduit routing within a building unit or structure. The set of conduits can include electrical conduit, plumbing conduit, HVAC conduit, networking conduit, fire alarm conduit, and fire sprinkler conduit. The prefabricated wall panels can include above-door cavities to assist with structure design and coupling conduits between prefabricated panels. The prefabricated panels can additionally include dual-headed fire sprinklers that enable one fire sprinkler conduit to spray into multiple rooms, reducing the overall number of fire sprinkler conduits required within a structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A prefabricated wall panel, comprising:
a front surface and a rear surface separated by a threshold distance; a plurality of supports affixed between the front surface and the rear surface; a door frame within the prefabricated wall panel producing an opening within the prefabricated wall panel and comprising a first side support, a second side support, and a top support coupled to the first side support and the second side support; a cavity within the prefabricated wall panel between the top support of the door frame and a top edge of the first prefabricated wall panel and between the front surface and the rear surface of the first prefabricated wall panel; and a set of conduits embedded within the prefabricated wall panel, the set of conduits routed from the prefabricated wall panel into a second prefabricated panel through the cavity of the prefabricated wall panel.
2 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the prefabricated wall abuts a first room and a second room, and wherein the set of conduits is routed from the first room into the second room through the cavity of the prefabricated wall panel.
3 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 2 , wherein a height of the first room is different from a height of the second room, and wherein the second prefabricated panel comprises a ceiling panel of the second room.
4 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 3 , wherein the set of conduits is routed through the cavity of the prefabricated wall panel by a distance equal to or greater than a difference between the height of the first room and the height of the second room.
5 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein a first portion of the set of conduits is routed vertically through the prefabricated wall panel such that the first portion of the set of conduits is substantially parallel with the first side support or the second side support of the door frame, and such that a second portion of the set of conduits is routed from an end of the first portion of the set of conduits into the cavity above the door frame.
6 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the set of conduits include one or more of: HVAC conduit, an electrical conduit, plumbing conduit, a fire alarm conduit, a fire sprinkler conduit, and a digital communications conduit.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
