Abstract
A low-voltage power hub located and powered at an indoor HVAC unit. More specifically, embodiments may include an input power tapped from an HVAC unit line-voltage AC input, and will utilize a step-down transformer to bring the voltage to 49 v or below.

1 . A power control system including:
a first high voltage system configured to receive line voltage, the first high voltage system including a first localized power distribution panel, the first localized power distribution panel being configured to distribute low voltage power to first appliances, wherein the first appliances are not related to the first high voltage system.
2 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein the first appliances include localized lighting and lighting controls, HVAC controls, HVAC sensors (including temperature/humidity sensors and thermostats), air quality sensors (including fire, smoke, CO, and CO2 sensors), fans (including fresh air, filtration, ventilation, and exhaust), building automation sensors (including occupancy sensors), building access sensors (including door proximity sensors, card readers, and keypads), and network and communication devices (including phones, wireless hubs, mesh network extenders and nodes).
3 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein the first appliances are not connected to a main breaker panel.
4 . The power control system of claim 1 , further comprising:
a second high voltage appliance configured to receive the line voltage, the second high voltage appliance including a second localized power distribution panel, the second localized power distribution panel being configured to distribute low voltage power to second appliances, wherein the second appliances are not related to the first high voltage appliance, wherein the second appliances are use a variable amount of voltage.
5 . The power control system of claim 4 , wherein the first high voltage appliance is configured to supply conditioned air to a first zone within a building, and the second HVAC system is configured to supply conditioned air to a second zone within the building.
6 . The power control system of claim 5 , wherein the first appliances are located within the first zone, and the second appliances are located within the second zone.
7 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein the first localized power distribution panel includes a transformer, the transformer being configured to receive line power from an outdoor HVAC unit and step down the voltage to the low voltage power.
8 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein the first localized power distribution panel includes an inverter, the inverter being configured to convert AC power to DC power.
9 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein new appliances are electrically coupled to the first location power distribution panel without directly coupling the new appliances to a main breaker.
10 . The power control system of claim 1 , wherein power is transmitted from an outdoor HVAC unit over high voltage wiring, and the power is transmitted from the first located power distribution panel to the first appliances over 16 gauge or smaller wiring.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
