What is claimed is:

1 . An oven appliance defining a vertical, a lateral, and a transverse direction, the oven appliance comprising:
a cooking chamber positioned within a cabinet; a door rotatably mounted to the cabinet for providing selective access to the cooking chamber; and a rotisserie assembly comprising:
 a first spit support and a second spit support mounted in the cooking chamber and being spaced apart along the lateral direction;
a spit rod rotatably supported by the first spit support and the second spit support; and
a motor assembly for engaging and selectively rotating the spit rod when the spit rod is in an installed position.

2 . The oven appliance of claim 1 , wherein the first spit support and the second spit support each define receiving slot for rotatably receiving the spit rod.

3 . The oven appliance of claim 1 , wherein each of the first spit support and the second spit support comprises:
a front vertical arm; a rear vertical arm spaced apart from the front vertical arm along the transverse direction; and a cross arm extending between the front vertical arm and the rear vertical arm.

4 . The oven appliance of claim 1 , further comprising:
a rotisserie rack slidably mounted within the cooking chamber.

5 . The oven appliance of claim 4 , further comprising:
a first sidewall and a second sidewall spaced apart along the lateral direction, wherein the first sidewall and the second sidewall define embossed ribs, the rotisserie rack being slidably received and supported by the embossed ribs.

6 . The oven appliance of claim 4 , wherein the rotisserie rack defines a central aperture, the rotisserie assembly further comprising:
a drip tray positioned within the central aperture below the spit rod.

7 . The oven appliance of claim 4 , further comprising standoff feet that extend from a bottom of the rotisserie rack.

8 . The oven appliance of claim 4 , further comprising:
a spit support bracket attached to a bottom end of each of the first spit support and the second spit support.

9 . The oven appliance of claim 8 , wherein the spit support bracket defines a receiving channel for seating on the rotisserie rack.

10 . The oven appliance of claim 8 , wherein the spit support bracket defines a threaded aperture configured to receive a screw to secure the spit support bracket to the rotisserie rack.

11 . The oven appliance of claim 1 , wherein the spit rod defines two necked regions for engaging the first spit support and the second spit support.

12 . The oven appliance of claim 1 , wherein the motor assembly is mounted on one of a first sidewall or a second sidewall outside of the cooking chamber.

13 . A rotisserie assembly for an oven appliance, the oven appliance comprising a cooking chamber positioned within a cabinet, the rotisserie assembly comprising:
a first spit support and a second spit support mounted in the cooking chamber and being spaced apart along the lateral direction; a spit rod rotatably supported by the first spit support and the second spit support; and a motor assembly for engaging and selectively rotating the spit rod when the spit rod is in an installed position.

14 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 13 , wherein the first spit support and the second spit support each define receiving slot for rotatably receiving the spit rod.

15 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 13 , wherein each of the first spit support and the second spit support comprises:
a front vertical arm; a rear vertical arm spaced apart from the front vertical arm along a transverse direction; and a cross arm extending between the front vertical arm and the rear vertical arm.

16 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 13 , further comprising:
a rotisserie rack slidably mounted within the cooking chamber.

17 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 16 , wherein the rotisserie rack defines a central aperture, the rotisserie assembly further comprising:
a drip tray positioned within the central aperture below the spit rod.

18 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 16 , further comprising standoff feet that extend from a bottom of the rotisserie rack.

19 . The rotisserie assembly of claim 16 , further comprising:
a spit support bracket attached to a bottom end of each of the first spit support and the second spit support, wherein the spit support bracket defines a receiving channel for seating on the rotisserie rack.
