Abstract

An aerosol generation product according to one embodiment comprises: a medium segment filled with a granular medium, and a first segment arranged upstream of the medium segment, and/or a second segment arranged downstream of the medium segment, wherein the particle size of the granular medium is 0.4 mm or greater.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An aerosol-generating article comprising:
a medium segment filled with a granular medium; and at least one of a first segment disposed upstream of the medium segment and a second segment disposed downstream of the medium segment, wherein a particle size of the granular medium is greater than or equal to 0.4 mm.

         2 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 1 ,
wherein a particle size of the granular medium is less than or equal to 0.8 mm.

         3 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 2 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a cavity and the cavity is filled with the granular medium.

         4 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 2 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a cellulose acetate filter comprising the granular medium, and a particle size of the granular medium is greater than or equal to 0.4 mm and less than or equal to 0.5 mm.

         5 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 2 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a paper filter comprising the granular medium, and a particle size of the granular medium exceeds 0.5 mm and is less than or equal to 0.8 mm.

         6 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 1 ,
wherein nicotine spread from the granular medium is adsorbed into at least one of the first segment and the second segment.

         7 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 6 ,
wherein the granular medium comprises at least one component of tobacco granules, reconstituted tobacco, and cut tobacco leaves or a combination thereof.

         8 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 7 ,
wherein the granular medium of the medium segment is pH-treated.

         9 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 8 ,
wherein the medium is pH-treated to be in a range of 7.0 to 9.5.

         10 . The aerosol-generating article of claim 6 ,
wherein the first segment and the second segment comprise cellulose acetate and an amount of nicotine adsorption per unit length of the first segment is greater than or equal to an amount of nicotine adsorption per unit length of the second segment.

         11 . An aerosol-generating system comprising:
an aerosol-generating article; and an aerosol-generating device comprising a controller comprising at least one processor, an elongated empty space configured to receive the aerosol-generating article, and a vaporizer configured to generate an aerosol by heating a liquid composition and emit the aerosol toward the aerosol-generating article, wherein the aerosol-generating article comprises: a first segment; a second segment disposed downstream of the first segment; and a medium segment disposed between the first segment and the second segment, wherein the medium segment is filled with a granular medium, and nicotine spread from the granular medium is adsorbed into at least one of the first segment and the second segment, and a particle size of the granular medium is greater than or equal to 0.4 mm and less than or equal to 0.8 mm.

         12 . The aerosol-generating system of claim 11 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a cavity and the cavity is filled with the granular medium.

         13 . The aerosol-generating system of claim 11 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a cellulose acetate filter comprising the granular medium, and a particle size of the granular medium is greater than or equal to 0.4 mm and less than or equal to 0.5 mm.

         14 . The aerosol-generating system of claim 11 ,
wherein the medium segment comprises a paper filter comprising the granular medium, and a particle size of the granular medium exceeds 0.5 mm and is less than or equal to 0.8 mm.

         15 . The aerosol-generating system of claim 11 ,
wherein the granular medium is pH-treated to be in a range of 7.0 to 9.5.
