Abstract

An an aerosol provision device including a heating chamber for receiving an aerosol generating article which, in use, is inserted into the heating chamber in a first longitudinal direction, one or more air inlets arranged to direct air into the aerosol provision device in an inlet direction and one or more first air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more air inlets in a second longitudinal direction, wherein the second longitudinal direction is opposed to the first longitudinal direction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An aerosol provision device comprising:
a heating chamber for receiving an aerosol generating article which, in use, is inserted into the heating chamber in a first longitudinal direction; one or more air inlets arranged to direct air into the aerosol provision device in an inlet direction; and one or more first air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more air inlets in a second longitudinal direction, wherein the second longitudinal direction is opposed to the first longitudinal direction.

         2 - 3 . (canceled)

4 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the one or more air inlets are remote from the opening.

5 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the one or more air inlets are distal to the heating chamber.

6 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the inlet direction is a radial direction.

         7 - 8 . (canceled)

9 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the one or more first air channels longitudinally overlap the heating chamber.

         10 . (canceled)

11 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the one or more first air channels are arranged radially outward of the heating chamber.

         12 . (canceled)

13 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising one or more second air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more first air channels in a third direction.

         14 - 15 . (canceled)

16 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising one or more third air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more first air channels in a fourth direction.

         17 - 18 . (canceled)

19 . An aerosol provision device as claimed claim 16 , further comprising an inner surface for contacting the aerosol generating article when, in use, the aerosol generating article is inserted into the heating chamber,
wherein the inner surface comprises a longitudinally extending portion which faces radially inward, and an end portion at the distal end of the longitudinally extending portion.

20 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 19 , wherein the inner surface comprises one or more longitudinal recesses, which extend towards the distal end of the heating chamber.

21 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 20 , wherein the longitudinally extending portion of the inner surface comprises the one or more longitudinal recesses.

22 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 21 , wherein the one or more third air channels comprise one or more gaps defined between the aerosol generating article and the one or more longitudinal recesses, when, in use, the aerosol generating article is inserted into the heating chamber.

         23 - 40 . (canceled)

41 . An aerosol provision device comprising:
a heating chamber having for receiving an aerosol generating article which, in use, is inserted into the heating chamber in a first longitudinal direction; one or more air inlets arranged to direct air into the aerosol provision device in an inlet direction; and one or more first air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more air inlets in a circumferential direction.

         42 - 46 . (canceled)

47 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 41 , wherein the one or more first air channels are arranged radially outward of the heating chamber.

48 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 41 , wherein the one or more first air channels longitudinally overlap the heating chamber.

         49 - 52 . (canceled)

53 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 41 , further comprising one or more air outlets arranged to direct air out of the one or more first air channels.

54 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 53 , wherein the one or more air outlets are circumferentially displaced from the one or more air inlets.

         55 . (canceled)

56 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 53 , further comprising one or more second air channels arranged to direct air from the one or more air outlets in a second longitudinal direction, wherein the second longitudinal direction is substantially opposed to the first longitudinal direction.

57 . An aerosol provision device as claimed in claim 56 , wherein the one or more second air channels are arranged to direct air from the one or more air outlets into the heating chamber.

         58 - 61 . (canceled)

62 . A method of generating an aerosol comprising:
providing an aerosol provision device comprising a heating chamber for receiving an aerosol generating article; inserting the aerosol generating article into the heating chamber in a first longitudinal direction; directing air into the aerosol provision device in an inlet direction through one or more inlets; and directing air from the one or more air inlets in a second longitudinal direction through one or more first air channels, wherein the second longitudinal direction is opposed to the first longitudinal direction.
