Attachment mechanism
Abstract
An attachment mechanism for attaching components to a belt comprising a strap body having an inner surface and an outer surface with loop closures on the inner surface and hook closures on the outer surface. The strap body has a base tab having an aperture, and a bridge section and an overlock tab. The overlock tab passes through the aperture from an inner surface to and outer surface of the strap body and adheres to the base tab. The strap body wraps around a belt having hook closures on an inside surface. The loop closures of the base tab are adhered to the hook closures on the inside surface of the belt, the bridge section folds over a top edge of the belt, extends across an outer surface of the belt, and the overlock tab folds over a bottom edge of the belt. The loop closures on the overlock tab adhere to hook closures on the inside surface of the belt and on a base tab outer surface after the overlock tab extends through the aperture to secure the attachment mechanism.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWe claim:
1 . An attachment mechanism comprising:
a strap body having an inner surface and an outer surface, the strap body further comprising loop closures on the inner surface and hook closures on the outer surface; and the strap body further comprising a base tab having an aperture, a bridge section, and an overlock tab, wherein the overlock tab passes through the aperture from the inner surface to the outer surface of the strap body and adheres to the base tab.
2 . The attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the strap body wraps around a belt, the belt having belt hook closures on an inside surface of the belt.
3 . The attachment mechanism of claim 2 , wherein the loop closures of the base tab are adhered to the hook closures on the inside surface of the belt, the bridge section folds over a top edge of the belt and extends across an outer surface of the belt, and the overlock tab folds over a bottom edge of the belt, wherein loop closures on the overlock tab adhere to hook closures on the inside surface of the belt and on a base tab outer surface after the overlock tab extends through the aperture.
4 . The attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the bridge section comprises an inner smooth surface.
5 . The attachment mechanism of claim 4 , wherein the inner smooth surface is a laminate.
6 . The attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the strap body is configured with a 7-profile.
7 . The attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein a component is attached to the strap body.
8 . The attachment mechanism of claim 7 , wherein the component is any Molle compatible component.
9 . The attachment mechanism of claim 7 , wherein the component is any non-Molle compatible component.
10 . The attachment mechanism of claim 7 , wherein the component is at least one of a holster, sheath, and a pouch.
11 . The attachment mechanism of claim 1 , wherein the bridge section is oriented non-orthogonally to a longitudinal axis of a belt to which the attachment mechanism is attached.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
