Abstract
A mattress includes a pressurizable layer positioned within a receptacle. The mattress further includes a top layer positioned over at least a portion of the pressurizable layer within the receptacle. The top layer includes an elastomer gel.

a pressurizable layer positioned within a receptacle; and a top layer positioned over at least a portion of the pressurizable layer within the receptacle, the top layer comprising an elastomer gel.
2 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer gel comprises a block copolymer.
3 . The mattress of claim 2 , wherein the block copolymer comprises an A-B-A triblock copolymer.
4 . The mattress of claim 2 , wherein the elastomer gel further comprises a plasticizer, the plasticizer comprising an oil.
5 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer gel defines a plurality of interconnected walls defining an arrangement of buckling columns.
6 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the elastomer gel defines a structured grid with a plurality of openings.
7 . The mattress of claim 1 , wherein the pressurizable layer comprises a plurality of pressurizable chambers.
8 . The mattress of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of pressurizable chambers are independently pressurizable.
9 . The mattress of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of pressurizable chambers extends a width of the mattress and are positioned adjacent to a periphery of the mattress.
10 . The mattress of claim 1 , further comprising a coiled spring layer positioned adjacent to the pressurizable layer.
11 . The mattress of claim 1 , further comprising at least one sensor associated with the top layer.
12 . A mattress, comprising:
a pressurizable layer positioned within a receptacle; and a top layer positioned over at least a portion of the pressurizable layer, the top layer comprising a plurality of compressible walls defining an array of buckling columns.
13 . The mattress of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of compressible walls are composed of an elastomer gel, the elastomer gel comprising a block copolymer.
14 . The mattress of claim 13 , wherein the elastomer gel further comprises a plasticizer, the plasticizer comprising an oil.
15 . The mattress of claim 12 , wherein the pressurizable layer comprises a plurality of pressurizable chambers.
16 . The mattress of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of pressurizable chambers are independently pressurizable.
17 . A cushion, comprising:
a foundation defining a receptacle; a pressurizable layer comprising at least one pressurizable air chamber, the pressurizable layer positioned within the receptacle; and a top layer positioned over at least a portion of the pressurizable layer, the top layer comprising a plurality of compressible walls defining an array of buckling columns.
18 . The cushion of claim 17 , wherein the pressurizable layer comprises a plurality of pressurizable bladders.
19 . The cushion of claim 18 , wherein the plurality of pressurizable bladders are independently pressurizable.
