Abstract
A structural stud post assembly comprising a center receiver section having opposing receiver channels formed by side walls and angled flanges, and a pair of raceway inserts also defining a raceway channel for accepting wiring and equipment to be disposed in the raceway. The raceways can be installed in the receiver channels to accept and accommodate wiring and equipment. The center receiver comprises a thermal break at about a midpoint to prevent there from being a metal-to-metal thermally conductive pathway through the stud. The structural stud post may be used in the construction of modular building systems.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A system comprising:
a receiver comprising a first U-shaped element and a second U-shaped element with a thermal break assembly disposed therebetween; a first U-shaped raceway section having a pair of opposing flanges extending outwardly from distal ends of said U-shape, said first U-shaped raceway section sized and shaped to be received in said first U-shaped element; a second U-shaped raceway section having a pair of opposing flanges extending outwardly from distal ends of said U-shape, said second U-shaped raceway section sized and shaped to be received in said second U-shaped element; and a wall segment having a thickness; wherein when said system is assembled by receiving said first U-shaped raceway section in said first U-shaped element and receiving and said second U-shaped raceway section in said second U-shaped element and attaching said first wall segment between a first flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and a corresponding first flange of said second U-shaped raceway section, said thickness is less than a distance between said first flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and said first flange of said second U-shaped raceway section.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein said thermal break assembly comprises an insulating structural polymer.
3 . The system of claim 2 , wherein said thermal break assembly comprises a pour channel sized and shaped to receive said insulating structural polymer.
4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein said pour channel comprises a removable bridge connecting said first U-shaped element to said second U-shaped element.
5 . The system of claim 4 , wherein after said removable bridge is removed, said receiver section does not have a thermally conductive contact path between said first U-shaped element and said second U-shaped element.
6 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a panel stop.
7 . The system of claim 6 , wherein said panel stop is a generally U-shaped element.
8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein said panel stop comprises a connecting element configured to interlock with a corresponding connecting element of said system.
9 . The system of claim 7 , wherein when said system is assembled and said panel stop is installed, said wall segment is held in place by said panel stop.
10 . The system of claim 7 , wherein when said system is assembled and said panel stop is installed, movement of said wall segment is inhibited.
11 . The system of claim 7 , wherein when said system is assembled and said panel stop is installed, said panel stop is braced against one of said flanges of said first U-shaped raceway section or said second U-shaped raceway section.
12 . The system of claim 7 , wherein when said system is assembled and said panel stop is installed, said panel stop is braced against said wall segment.
13 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a cover sized and shaped to fit between said opposing flanges of said first U-shaped raceway section.
14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein said cover can be removably snapped into position between said opposing flanges of said first U-shaped raceway section.
15 . The system of claim 1 , wherein said opposing flanges of said second U-shaped raceway section are linearly connected to form an exterior side.
16 . The system of claim 15 , wherein said second U-shaped raceway section and said exterior side define an enclosure.
17 . The system of claim 16 , further comprising at least one separator attached to an interior side of said enclosure and extending into said enclosure.
18 . The system of claim 1 , wherein:
said U-shape of said first U-shaped raceway section comprises a pair of opposing legs, each of said legs comprising an interior angled element and exterior angled element extending outward from a midpoint of said first U-shaped raceway section; and said U-shape of said first U-shaped element comprises a pair of opposing legs, each of said legs comprising an angled element extending outward from a midpoint of said first U-shaped element.
19 . The system of claim 1 , comprising a second wall segment having a thickness, wherein when said system is assembled by receiving said first U-shaped raceway section in said first U-shaped element and receiving and said second U-shaped raceway section in said second U-shaped element and attaching said second wall segment between a second flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and a corresponding second flange of said second U-shaped raceway section, said thickness of said second wall segment is less than a distance between said second flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and said second flange of said second U-shaped raceway section.
20 . The system of claim 19 , wherein said first U-shaped raceway section is received in said first U-shaped element, said second U-shaped raceway section in said second U-shaped element, said first wall segment is attached between said first flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and said first flange of second U-shaped raceway element, and said second wall segment is attached between said second flange of said first U-shaped raceway section and said second flange of second U-shaped raceway element.Cited by (0)
