Abstract

Disclosed is an attachment panel and receiver system used to selectively couple a preconfigured loadout to a tactical vest. The attachment panel and receiver system comprises a receiver configured for attachment to the tactical vest, and an attachment panel configured to be selectively coupled to the receiver. The attachment panel includes an array of apertures configured to facilitate attachment of one or more pouches, bags, tools, medical kits, hydration systems, or other equipment.

1 . An attachment panel and receiver system for tactical vests, the attachment panel and receiver system comprising:
 a receiver including a pocket defining an opening; and   an attachment panel including an array of apertures extending therethrough;   wherein the pocket of the receiver is configured to slidably receive the attachment panel through the opening.   
     
     
         2 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 1 , further comprising a detent mechanism configured to retain the attachment panel in position within the pocket of the receiver until a release force sufficient to disengage the detent mechanism is applied. 
     
     
         3 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 1 , wherein the pocket of the receiver is bounded by a rear wall, a pair of spaced-apart opposing end walls, and a pair of spaced-apart opposing alignment flanges, and wherein the alignment flanges are configured to assist in maintaining the attachment panel within the pocket as the attachment panel is slidably inserted into or withdrawn from the pocket. 
     
     
         4 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment panel includes a front surface and a pair of spaced-apart, longitudinally extending rails positioned on opposite sides of the front surface, and wherein the pocket of the receiver includes a pair of spaced-apart, longitudinally extending grooves configured to slidably receive the rails of the attachment panel. 
     
     
         5 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 4 , wherein each longitudinally extending groove includes a detent, and each longitudinally extending rail includes a cutout configured to receive the detent of the corresponding groove. 
     
     
         6 . An attachment panel and receiver system for tactical vests, the attachment panel and receiver system comprising:
 a receiver including a pocket defining an opening, the pocket being bounded by a rear wall, a pair of spaced-apart opposing end walls, and a pair of spaced-apart alignment flanges; and   an attachment panel including a substantially rectangular base member having an array of apertures extending therethrough, two opposing side edges, and a front surface;   wherein the pocket of the receiver is configured to slidably receive the attachment panel through the opening.   
     
     
         7 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 6 , further comprising a detent mechanism configured to retain the attachment panel in position within the pocket of the receiver until a release force sufficient to disengage the detent mechanism is applied. 
     
     
         8 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 6 , wherein the alignment flanges are configured to assist in maintaining the attachment panel within the pocket as the attachment panel is slidably inserted into or withdrawn from the pocket. 
     
     
         9 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 6 , wherein the attachment panel includes a pair of spaced-apart, longitudinally extending rails positioned on opposite sides of the front surface, and wherein the pocket of the receiver includes a pair of spaced-apart, longitudinally extending grooves configured to slidably receive the rails of the attachment panel. 
     
     
         10 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 9 , wherein each longitudinally extending groove includes a detent, and each longitudinally extending rail includes a cutout configured to receive the detent of the corresponding groove. 
     
     
         11 . The attachment panel and receiver system of  claim 6 , wherein each alignment flange includes a ledge, and wherein the attachment panel includes a pair of stops, each stop extending laterally beyond a respective side edge and being configured to engage a corresponding ledge on a respective alignment flange when the attachment panel is fully seated in the pocket of the receiver.
