Abstract
Systems and methods of installing a fixture into a material are provided. The fixture includes a body and a cover assembly that is removably coupled to the body and configured to move relative to the body once the body has been secured within the material. The cover assembly includes a movable component configured to aid removal of the cover assembly.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 .- 19 . (canceled)
20 . A drain assembly comprising:
a body having at least two planar surfaces spaced apart from one another and extending in a direction parallel to a longitudinal axis to define a drain channel; and a cover assembly removably coupled to the body and positioned above the drain channel, the cover assembly having a cover and a movable component removably coupled to the cover, the cover including a planar surface, the movable component including at least one collapsible structure, the movable component being movable parallel to the longitudinal axis.
21 . The drain assembly of claim 20 , wherein the cover includes at least one leg extending away from the planar surface toward the body.
22 . The drain assembly of claim 20 , wherein the collapsible structure includes a first collapsible structure and a second collapsible structure.
23 . The drain assembly of claim 20 , wherein the collapsible structure includes a first wall and a second wall spaced apart from one another and coupled to one another by a plurality of ribs.
24 . The drain assembly of claim 23 , wherein the collapsible structure includes at least one tab protruding away from the second wall.
25 . The drain assembly of claim 24 , wherein the cover further includes at least one notch, the at least one notch configured to receive the at least one tab.
26 . The drain assembly of claim 20 , wherein the cover includes a cover channel, and the movable component includes an arm configured to be received by the cover channel.
27 . The drain assembly of claim 26 , wherein the arm extends in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.
28 . The drain assembly of claim 26 , wherein the arm facilitates deformation of at least a portion of the movable component along the longitudinal axis in response to compressing the arm.
29 . A cover assembly comprising:
a cover; a movable component removably coupled to the cover, the movable component including
an inner ring and an outer ring, wherein the inner ring and the outer ring are spaced apart from one another and coupled to one another by a plurality of ribs,
a crumple zone that facilitates deformation of at least a portion of the movable component, and
at least one support flange positioned between two adjacent ribs.
30 . The cover assembly of claim 29 , wherein the movable component includes a first plurality of support flanges positioned outside of the crumple zone and a second plurality of support flanges positioned within the crumple zone.
31 . The cover assembly of claim 30 , wherein a first end portion of one support flange of the first plurality of support flanges includes an arcuate surface that is oriented in a first direction, and a second end portion of one support flange of the second plurality of support flanges includes an arcuate surface that is oriented in a second direction.
32 . The cover assembly of claim 31 , wherein the second end portion of the support flange of the second plurality of support flanges and the outer ring define an opening of varied width within the crumple zone.
33 . The cover assembly of claim 29 , wherein the crumple zone facilitates deformation in response to rotation of the movable component relative to the cover.
34 . The cover assembly of claim 29 , wherein the cover includes at least one protrusion configured to be disposed between at least two shims.
35 . The cover assembly of claim 29 , wherein each of the ribs includes a first peripheral portion and a second peripheral portion coupled to the first peripheral portion by an intermediate portion, the intermediate portion having a width that is greater than a width of the first peripheral portion and a width of the second peripheral portion.
36 . A method of installing a fixture relative to a finished surface, the method comprising:
positioning the fixture adjacent the finished surface, the fixture including a body and a cover assembly removably coupled to the body; securing the body with respect to a conduit; moving the cover assembly relative to the body to facilitate deformation of at least a portion of the cover assembly; removing the cover assembly from the body; and adjusting an elevation of the fixture to a desired level relative to the finished surface.
37 . The method of claim 36 , wherein moving the cover assembly relative to the body includes rotating the cover assembly relative to the body to urge an outer surface of the cover assembly radially inward.
38 . The method of claim 36 , wherein moving the cover assembly relative to the body includes moving a collapsible structure of the cover assembly in a longitudinal direction relative to the body to facilitate deformation of at least a portion of the collapsible structure.
39 . The method of claim 36 , wherein positioning the fixture includes positioning the body in fluid communication with a conduit.Cited by (0)
