Abstract
An accessorized firearm can include a firearm including a barrel having a main firing tube, the barrel provided with an alignment key; and a muzzle accessory including an accessory body having a through-channel and a surface provided with an alignment groove, the through-channel receiving the barrel of the firearm, the alignment groove receiving the alignment key, the alignment key rotationally fixing the muzzle accessory relative to the barrel.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An accessorized firearm, comprising:
a firearm including a barrel having a main firing tube, the barrel provided with an alignment key; and a muzzle accessory including an accessory body having a through-channel, a cylindrically-shaped locking pin positioned within a through-bore of the muzzle accessory, and a surface provided with an alignment groove, the cylindrically-shaped locking pin including a circumferential channel, the through-channel receiving the barrel of the firearm, the alignment groove receiving the alignment key, the alignment key rotationally fixing the muzzle accessory relative to the barrel.
2 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the accessory body has a sight-receipt hole sized to receive a keyed portion of a front sight.
3 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the accessory body has a transverse and upwardly facing vent communicating with the through-channel at a distal end.
4 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the accessory body has a bottom portion having an access window communicating with a blind access channel extending distally and substantially parallel to the through-channel from a proximal end.
5 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the accessory body has a sloping lip protruding downwardly from a top side of an access channel and forming a retention groove.
6 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the accessory body has a threaded bore intersecting a retention receptacle and extending transversely therefrom to an outside curved surface of a bottom portion.
7 . The accessorized firearm of claim 6 , wherein the accessory body has a pin-like detent spring, which extends proximally from the retention receptacle through a retention groove to engage the circumferential channel of the cylindrically-shaped locking pin.
8 . The accessorized firearm of claim 6 , wherein the accessory body has a bent detent spring having a vertical portion positioned to engage the cylindrically-shaped locking pin to prevent the bent detent spring from displacing proximally and out of the retention receptacle.
9 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the muzzle accessory further includes an annular wave spring positioned within a barrel receptacle between an annular ledge of the barrel and an annular wall of the accessory body.
10 . The accessorized firearm of claim 1 , wherein the cylindrically-shaped locking pin includes tapered surfaces at both ends.
11 . A muzzle accessory for installation on a barrel of a firearm, a distal end of the barrel including a main firing tube, the barrel provided with an alignment key, the muzzle accessory comprising:
an accessory body having a through-channel, a cylindrically-shaped locking pin positioned within a through-bore of the accessory body, and a surface, the cylindrically-shaped locking pin including a circumferential channel, the through-channel sized to receive the barrel of the firearm, the surface provided with an alignment groove structured to receive the alignment key to rotationally fix the muzzle accessory relative to the barrel.
12 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the accessory body has a sight-receipt hole sized to receive a keyed portion of a front sight.
13 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the accessory body has a transverse and upwardly facing vent communicating with the through-channel at a distal end.
14 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the accessory body has a bottom portion having an access window communicating with a blind access channel extending distally and substantially parallel to the through-channel from a proximal end.
15 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the accessory body has a sloping lip protruding downwardly from a top side of an access channel and forming a retention groove.
16 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the accessory body has a threaded bore intersecting a retention receptacle and extending transversely therefrom to an outside curved surface of a bottom portion.
17 . The muzzle accessory of claim 16 , wherein the accessory body has a pin-like detent spring, which extends proximally from the retention receptacle through a retention groove to engage the circumferential channel of the cylindrically-shaped locking pin.
18 . The muzzle accessory of claim 16 , wherein the accessory body has a bent detent spring having a vertical portion positioned to engage the cylindrically-shaped locking pin to prevent the bent detent spring from displacing proximally and out of the retention receptacle.
19 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the muzzle accessory further includes an annular wave spring positioned within a barrel receptacle between an annular ledge of the barrel and an annular wall of the accessory body.
20 . The muzzle accessory of claim 11 , wherein the cylindrically-shaped locking pin includes tapered surfaces at both ends.Cited by (0)
