Archery Bow Eccentric Alignment and Related Apparatuses
Abstract
A member for an archery bow having an axle, a limb, and a cam. The member contacts the axle to retain the cam at a location relative to the axle and the limb. In some examples, the member can have a shim portion positioning the cam a distance from the limb or from a first end of the axle. In some examples, the member can define a first surface facing the limb and a second surface facing the limb. In some examples, the member can have an engagement portion coupling the member to at least one of the first end of the axle or the limb. In some examples, the member can include a nesting feature receivable within a groove of the cam.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed:
1 . An archery bow, comprising:
a riser; a limb extending from the riser; a cam rotatably coupled to the limb by an axle; and a member affixed to the axle, the member comprising:
a first half contacting the limb;
a second half contacting the cam;
a fastener coupled to the first half and the second half, wherein rotation of the fastener causes the first half to move relative to the second half.
2 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein:
the axle has a first end and a second end; and the first half includes an engagement portion contacting the first end.
3 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein:
the second half includes a shim portion; and the cam includes a cam bearing having an inner race.
4 . The archery bow of claim 3 , wherein the shim portion contacts the inner race.
5 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein the fastener is configured to be accessible by a tool through an aperture defined by the first half.
6 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein the fastener has a threaded engagement with the second half.
7 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein the fastener has a threaded engagement with the first half.
8 . The archery bow of claim 1 , wherein a gap is defined between the first half and the second half.
9 . The archery bow of claim 8 , wherein:
in a first configuration, the gap is a first size; and in a second configuration, the gap is a second size different than the first size.
10 . The archery bow of claim 9 , wherein:
in the first configuration, the cam is a first distance from an end of the axle; and in the second configuration, the cam is a second distance from the end of the axle.
11 . An archery bow comprising:
a riser; a limb extending from the riser; a cam rotatably coupled to the limb by an axle; and a member affixed to the axle, the member comprising:
a first half contacting the limb;
a second half contacting the cam;
a fastener coupled to the first half and the second half, wherein:
in a first configuration of the member, the fastener is in a first orientation and the cam is in a first position along the axle; and
in a second configuration of the member, the fastener is in a second orientation and the cam is in a second position along the axle.
12 . The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein the member transitions from the first configuration to the second configuration by rotation of the fastener.
13 . The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein the cam is disposed relatively closer to the limb in the first position than in the second position.
14 . The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein the first half is displaced from the second half by a gap.
15 . The archery bow of claim 11 , wherein:
in the first configuration of the member, the first half is displaced from the second half by a first gap; and in the first configuration of the member, the first half is displaced from the second half by a second gap.
16 . The archery bow of claim 15 , wherein the first gap is smaller than the second gap.
17 . An archery bow comprising:
a riser; a limb extending from the riser; a cam rotatably coupled to the limb by an axle; and a member affixed to the axle, the member comprising:
a first half including a first intermediate portion and an engagement portion, the engagement portion contacting the axle;
a second half including a second intermediate portion and a shim portion, the shim portion contacting the cam;
a fastener coupled to the first intermediate portion and the second intermediate portion, wherein rotation of the fastener causes the first half to move relative to the second half.
18 . The archery bow of claim 17 , wherein the cam includes a bearing, the shim portion contacting the bearing.
19 . The archery bow of claim 17 , wherein:
the first intermediate portion defines a first limb-facing surface; the second intermediate portion defines a second limb-facing surface; and the first limb-facing surface and the second limb-facing surface both face a tensile surface of compressive surface of the limb.
20 . The archery bow of claim 17 , wherein:
the shim portion defines a first limb-facing surface; the first limb-facing surface faces a first lateral surface of the limb; the engagement portion defines a second limb-facing surface; and the second limb-facing surface faces a second lateral surface of the limb.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
