Abstract
A target sight for a firearm includes a main body, an elongated, flexible emitter carrier having a first end fixed to the main body and having a movable portion at a second end opposite the first end, and a light emitter mounted to the movable portion of the flexible emitter carrier.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An emitter adjustment system in a reflex targeting sight for a firearm, comprising:
an elongated, flexible carrier having a fixed first end and having a movable portion at a second end opposite the first end; a light emitter coupled to the movable portion of the flexible carrier and structured to emit light toward the fixed first end of the flexible carrier; and a user controllable adjustment that allows a user to position the movable portion of the flexible carrier relative to a main body of the targeting sight.
2 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 1 in which the flexible carrier is biased against the user controller adjustment.
3 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 2 in which the flexible carrier includes at least one pre-bend.
4 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 3 in which a degree of bending in the pre-bend is related to the bias against the user control element.
5 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 3 in which the flexible carrier includes a first pre-bend in a first plane and a second pre-bend in a second plane different than the first plane.
6 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 5 in which the first plane is a horizontal plane relative to the main body of the targeting sight and in which the second plane is a vertical plane relative to the main body of the targeting sight.
7 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 2 in which the user controller adjustment is a windage adjustment or a elevation adjustment.
8 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 7 in which the user controller adjustment includes an adjustment screw, a bias spring, and a spring retainer.
9 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 1 , further comprising:
a reflecting surface in the targeting sight in which light emitter is aimed at the reflecting surface.
10 . The emitter adjustment system according to claim 1 , in which the elongated flexible carrier extends at least 50% of a length of the main body of the targeting sight.
11 . A reflex target sight for a firearm, comprising:
a main body; an elongated carrier extending at least 50 % across a length of the main body, the elongated carrier having a fixed first end coupled in a fixed relationship to the main body and having a movable portion at a second end opposite the first end; a light emitter coupled to the movable portion of the flexible carrier and structured to emit light toward the fixed first end of the flexible carrier; and a user controllable adjustment that allows a user to position the movable portion of the flexible carrier relative to the main body of the targeting sight.
12 . The reflex target sight according to claim 11 in which the flexible carrier is biased against the user controller adjustment.
13 . The reflex target sight according to claim 12 in which the flexible carrier includes at least one pre-bend.
14 . The reflex target sight according to claim 13 in which a degree of bending in the pre-bend is related to the bias against the user control element.
15 . The reflex target sight according to claim 13 in which the flexible carrier includes a first pre-bend in a first plane and a second pre-bend in a second plane different than the first plane.
16 . The reflex target sight according to claim 15 in which the first plane is a horizontal plane relative to the main body of the targeting sight and in which the second plane is a vertical plane relative to the main body of the targeting sight.
17 . The reflex target sight according to claim 11 in which the user controller adjustment is a windage adjustment or a elevation adjustment.
18 . The reflex target sight according to claim 17 in which the user controller adjustment includes an adjustment screw, a bias spring, and a spring retainer.
19 . The reflex target sight according to claim 11 , further comprising:
a reflecting surface in the targeting sight in which light emitter is aimed at the reflecting surface.
20 . The reflex target sight according to claim 11 , in which the elongated flexible carrier extends at least 50% of a length of the main body of the targeting sight.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
