Abstract

A desk having a height adjustment mechanism is provided. The desk includes two hollow legs; two internally threaded members disposed in the hollow legs respectively; two slide members including an externally threaded member on an outer surface, the externally threaded member being threadedly secured to the internally threaded members and having a first bevel gear on a top; a work surface disposed on tops of the slide members; a heating member disposed on a bottom of the work surface; an interconnection interconnecting front portions of the hollow legs; a drive shaft disposed through the heating member and including two second bevel gears at first and second ends respectively, the second bevel gears being in gear engagement with the first bevel gears respectively; and a hand crank disposed at a first side of the desk and attached to the first end of the draft shaft.

         1 . A desk, comprising:
 two hollow legs;   two internally threaded members disposed in the hollow legs respectively;   two slide members including an externally threaded member on an outer surface, the externally threaded member being threadedly secured to the internally threaded members and having a first bevel gear on a top;   a work surface disposed on tops of the slide members;   a heating member disposed on a bottom of the work surface;   an interconnection interconnecting front portions of the hollow legs;   a drive shaft disposed through the heating member and including two second bevel gears at first and second ends respectively, the second bevel gears being in gear engagement with the first bevel gears respectively; and   a hand crank disposed at a first side of the desk and attached to the first end of the draft shaft.
