Abstract

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a deployable gameboard system including at least one panel with a planar body and cavities configured to receive puck-shaped game pieces. In an illustrative example, the deployable gameboard features a backboard extending along a longitudinal axis and defining a planar surface, including a handle along a transverse edge and a cavity on an interior-facing side configured to receive the panel in a stowed mode. The backboard includes a plurality of transverse recess cavities configured to engage corresponding transverse protrusions in a deployed mode. In the stowed mode, the panel is received within the backboard's central cavity, enclosing the cavities and puck-shaped game pieces. In the deployed mode, the backboard is coupled to the panel, with the panel lying flat and the transverse recess cavities matingly engaging the transverse protrusions to secure the backboard upright. This configuration advantageously enhances portability and stability during gameplay.

What is claimed is:

         1 . A deployable gameboard system comprising:
at least one panel including a planar body and a series of cavities configured to receive rubber puck-shaped game pieces; a plurality of rubber puck-shaped game pieces; a backboard extending along a longitudinal axis and defining a planar surface, the backboard comprising:
a central cavity on an interior-facing side configured to receive the at least one panel in a stowed mode; and,
 a plurality of transverse recess cavities configured to engage a plurality of transverse protrusions in a deployed mode;
wherein, in the stowed mode, the at least one panel is received within the central cavity of the backboard, enclosing the cavities and the plurality of rubber puck-shaped game pieces; and, wherein, in the deployed mode, the backboard is coupled to the at least one panel, the at least one panel lies flat, and the plurality of transverse recess cavities matingly engage the plurality of transverse protrusions to secure the backboard in an upright position.

2 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 further comprising, a handle along a transverse edge.

3 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of rubber puck-shaped game pieces are stored within the cavities of the at least one panel in the stowed mode.

4 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel is configured to lie flat on a horizontal surface during gameplay.

5 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the backboard further comprises at least one coupling feature that engages with the at least one panel to facilitate deployment.

6 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel is removable from the backboard.

7 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of transverse protrusions are integrally formed on the at least one panel.

8 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the backboard comprises a material configured such that the backboard can be written on and erased for scorekeeping.

9 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the backboard and the at least one panel are constructed from a lightweight and durable plastic material.

10 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the handle comprises a grip portion that includes a textured surface for enhanced grip by a user.

11 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of rubber puck-shaped game pieces comprise a rubber material.

12 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel comprises multiple target zones to support different game variations.

13 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the backboard further includes a locking device configured such that the locking device secures the at least one panel in the stowed mode.

14 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of transverse recess cavities and the plurality of transverse protrusions are configured to provide a snap-fit connection in the deployed mode.

15 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the backboard further comprises graphics or markings to indicate scoring zones.

16 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the handle comprises an hinge device configured such that the hinge releases a latch to enable unfolding of the backboard.

17 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel comprises two or more panels joined via a hinge device.

18 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 further comprising feet protrusions.

19 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel is configured such that the at least one panel is stored within the backboard in a double-sided manner to support alternative game configurations.

20 . The deployable gameboard system of claim 1 , wherein the at least one panel and the backboard are configured such that the at least one panel and the backboard can be folded together into a compact profile for transport.
