Bracket system for mounting an appliance to a cabinet structure

Abstract

A bracket system for coupling an appliance to a cabinet structure includes a mounting bracket having an inner wall spaced-apart from an outer wall and a plurality of apertures is provided through the outer wall. The inner wall couples to the outer surface of the appliance in assembly. A trim member includes first and second mounting portions and an abutment portion inwardly offset from the first and second mounting portions. The first and second mounting portions each include a plurality of apertures disposed therethrough. An inner surface of the first mounting portion abuts the outer wall of the mounting bracket, such that the apertures disposed therebetween are aligned. The second mounting portion includes a plurality of apertures disposed therethrough, and an outer surface of the second mounting portion is configured to abut the inner surface of the cabinet compartment for mounting thereto.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A hinge bracket, comprising:
 a first portion, wherein the first portion is a substantially horizontal portion having upper and lower surfaces;   a second portion, wherein the second portion is a substantially vertical portion upwardly extending from the upper surface of the first portion and having front and rear surfaces;   a third portion that is a substantially horizontal portion extending outwardly from the front surface of the second portion and having upper and lower surfaces; and   at least one mounting flange positioned on the third portion and having a tab portion and an angled portion, wherein the tab portion that is vertically spaced-apart from the upper surface of the third portion by the angled portion.   
     
     
         2 . The hinge bracket of  claim 1 , including:
 a first side mounting flange disposed on a first end of the third portion of the hinge bracket; and   a second side mounting flange disposed on a second end of the third portion of the hinge bracket.   
     
     
         3 . The hinge bracket of  claim 2 , wherein the first and second side mounting brackets each include first and second tab portions spaced-apart from one another, wherein the second tab portion is outwardly positioned relative to the first tab portion. 
     
     
         4 . The hinge bracket of  claim 3 , wherein the first and second tab portions of the first and second side mounting flanges are disposed below the third portion of the hinge bracket. 
     
     
         5 . The hinge bracket of  claim 4 , wherein the first and second tab portions of the first and second side mounting flanges each include one or more apertures disposed therethrough.
