Squared arm chair with cupholder

Abstract

An outdoor chair includes a unitary body having a seat and a backrest, a pair of front legs and a pair of rear legs depending from the unitary body, and a pair of armrests coupled to the pair of front legs and to the backrest of the unitary body. The outdoor chair includes a first support section, a second support section, and a third support section. Each of the first support section, the second support section, and the third support section include a horizontal rib, a vertical rib, and a diagonal rib. A fourth support section includes a horizontal rib and a vertical rib. Support ridges are disposed on an inner sidewall surface of the chair adjacent the pair of rear legs and on a rear sidewall surface of the pair of front legs.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . An outdoor chair, comprising:
 a unitary body having a seat, a backrest, and a slot;   a pair of front legs depending from the unitary body;   a pair of rear legs depending from the unitary body;   a pair of armrests coupled to the pair of front legs and the backrest of the unitary body;   a horizontal rib disposed on a bottom surface of the unitary body;   a vertical rib disposed on the bottom surface of the unitary body; and   a diagonal rib disposed on the bottom surface of the unitary body.   
     
     
         2 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , wherein the slot includes a recess formed in a top edge of the backrest that extends from a first end of the unitary body to a midsection of the unitary body disposed centrally between the seat and the backrest. 
     
     
         3 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , wherein the slot includes an aperture formed in the seat of the unitary body. 
     
     
         4 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , wherein the slot includes a first slot and a second slot, the first slot including a recess formed in a top edge of the backrest that extends from a first end of the unitary body to a midsection of the unitary body disposed centrally between the seat and the backrest, the second slot including an aperture disposed adjacent the first slot that extends from the midsection of the unitary body to a second end of the unitary body opposite the first end. 
     
     
         5 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , wherein a pair of slot vertical ribs extends outwardly from the bottom surface of the unitary body, the pair of slot vertical ribs disposed on opposing sides of the slot. 
     
     
         6 . The outdoor chair of  claim 5 , wherein the pair of slot vertical ribs extends continuously from a first end of the unitary body to a second end of the unitary body. 
     
     
         7 . The outdoor chair of  claim 6 , wherein a slot support rib is disposed in the slot between the pair of slot vertical ribs. 
     
     
         8 . The outdoor chair of  claim 7 , wherein the slot support rib is integrally formed with the diagonal rib. 
     
     
         9 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , wherein a front leg support horizontal rib is integrally formed with the seat and the pair of front legs. 
     
     
         10 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 a first support section, a second support section, and a third support section, each of the first support section, the second support section, and the third support section having the horizontal rib, the vertical rib, and the diagonal rib; and   a fourth support section having the horizontal rib and the vertical rib.   
     
     
         11 . The outdoor chair of  claim 10 , wherein each of the first support section, the second support section, and the third support section includes a top horizontal rib and a bottom horizontal rib, each of the top horizontal rib and the bottom horizontal rib extending from a first side of the unitary body to a second side of the unitary body. 
     
     
         12 . The outdoor chair of  claim 10 , wherein each of the first support section, the second support section, and the third support section includes a plurality of diagonal ribs configured to form a double diamond configuration having a first diamond configuration and a second diamond configuration. 
     
     
         13 . The outdoor chair of  claim 12 , wherein the first diamond configuration and the second diamond configuration are disposed between a top horizontal rib and a bottom horizontal rib. 
     
     
         14 . The outdoor chair of  claim 13 , wherein each of the first diamond configuration and the second diamond configuration includes a pair of slot vertical ribs extending through a central portion of each of the first diamond configuration and the second diamond configuration. 
     
     
         15 . The outdoor chair of  claim 10 , wherein the fourth support section includes a central seat horizontal rib disposed on a central portion of the seat, an upper rear seat horizontal rib, and a lower rear seat horizontal rib disposed between the upper rear seat horizontal rib and the central seat horizontal rib. 
     
     
         16 . The outdoor chair of  claim 15 , wherein the fourth support section includes a vertical rib extending from the central seat horizontal rib to the upper rear seat horizontal rib. 
     
     
         17 . The outdoor chair of  claim 16 , wherein the fourth support section includes a vertical rib extending from the central seat horizontal rib to the first support section. 
     
     
         18 . The outdoor chair of  claim 16 , wherein the vertical rib has a first curved end and a second curved end disposed opposite to the first curved end, wherein each of the first curved end and the second curved end are configured to follow a contour of the unitary body. 
     
     
         19 . The outdoor chair of  claim 10 , wherein the unitary body includes a reinforced section having a first thickness that is less than a second thickness of a non-reinforced section of the unitary body, and wherein the reinforced section is disposed adjacent to the first support section, the second support section, and the third support section. 
     
     
         20 . The outdoor chair of  claim 1 , further comprising:
 support ridges disposed on an inner sidewall surface of the chair adjacent the pair of rear legs and on a rear sidewall surface of the pair of front legs.
