Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A dual-purpose leg protector which comprises a lower shin guard, a knee guard and wing guards between the shin and knee guards, wherein the guards each have a separate padding layer and are joined together by means of straps wherein,
the shin guard is split into three parts, the knee guard is above the shin guard, and inside and outside wing guards are positioned over the knee cap, act as a stabilizer and facilitate catcher movement.

2 . The dual-purpose leg protector of claim 1 is for a baseball or softball catcher.

3 . The dual-purpose leg protector of claim 1 wherein the shin and knee protectors are configured with the three parts being held together by a precise conjunction of straps, rivets and sewing lines.

4 . The dual-purpose leg protector of claim 1 wherein the inside wing guard area moves into position to cover any exposed area on the inside and outside of the leg between shin and knee guards.

5 . The dual-purpose leg protector of claim 4 wherein the wing guard acts as a stabilizer providing support for the catcher's knees to ensure that a knee does not roll out of the shin guard during use of the protector.

6 . The dual-purpose leg protector of claim 1 wherein a retainer strap holds a part of the shin guard and prevents the top third of the shin guard from completely coming off the rest of the shin guard.

7 . The dual-purpose leg protector comprising a lightweight foam system reinforced with multiple foams.

8 . The foam system of claim 7 which ensures integration between the leg protector and the knee structure and eliminates gaps that could compromise protection.

9 . The elongated, adjustable toe cap and built-in ankle protection, including a bellowed ankle design that prevents digging and enhances comfort during prolonged use.
