Playpen

Abstract

A playpen includes at least one standing leg, and an upper frame assembly coupled to the standing leg. The upper frame assembly includes a first side frame portion including a corner joining part, and a second side frame portion including a coupling part pivotally connected to the corner joining part, wherein the corner joining part has two opposite sidewalls that extend to an underside of the coupling part, and the standing leg has a leg end disposed between the two sidewalls and pivotally connected thereto.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A playpen comprising:
 at least one standing leg; and   an upper frame assembly coupled to the standing leg, wherein the upper frame assembly comprises:   a first side frame portion including a corner joining part; and   a second side frame portion including a coupling part pivotally connected to the corner joining part;   wherein the corner joining part has two opposite sidewalls that extend to an underside of the coupling part, and the standing leg has a leg end disposed between the two sidewalls and pivotally connected thereto.   
     
     
         2 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , wherein the leg end is restricted to move between the two sidewalls as the standing leg rotates relative to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         3 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , wherein the legend of the standing leg is pivotally connected to the two sidewalls of the corner joining part below the coupling part. 
     
     
         4 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , wherein the first side frame portion includes a bar connected to the corner joining part, the bar having a bar end restrictedly positioned between the two sidewalls of the corner joining part. 
     
     
         5 . The playpen according to  claim 4 , wherein the bar and the two sidewalls of the corner joining part extend at a same side of the upper frame assembly. 
     
     
         6 . The playpen according to  claim 4 , wherein the bar end is fixedly connected to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         7 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , wherein the first side frame portion is an unfoldable side frame portion, and the second side frame portion is a foldable side frame portion. 
     
     
         8 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , further comprising a locking mechanism having a latch operable to lock the standing leg in an unfolded position relative to the upper frame assembly, the latch being at least partially received between the two sidewalls of the corner joining part while the standing leg is locked in the unfolded position. 
     
     
         9 . The playpen according to  claim 8 , wherein the latch is coupled to the standing leg, and is movable along with the standing leg as the standing leg rotates relative to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         10 . The playpen according to  claim 1 , wherein the coupling part is pivotally connected to the corner joining part about a pivot axis, the pivot axis extending substantially vertically when the playpen stands on a floor surface. 
     
     
         11 . A playpen comprising:
 at least one standing leg; and   an upper frame assembly coupled to the standing leg, wherein the upper frame assembly comprises:   a first side frame portion including a corner joining part; and   a second side frame portion including a coupling part pivotally connected to the corner joining part;   wherein the corner joining part has two opposite sidewalls, the standing leg has a leg end disposed between the two sidewalls and pivotally connected thereto, and the coupling part is pivotally connected to the corner joining part between a top of the two sidewalls and a bottom of the two sidewalls.   
     
     
         12 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , wherein the two sidewalls extend to an underside of the coupling part, and the legend of the standing leg is pivotally connected to the two sidewalls of the corner joining part below the coupling part. 
     
     
         13 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , wherein the leg end is restricted to move between the two sidewalls as the standing leg rotates relative to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         14 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , wherein the first side frame portion includes a bar connected to the corner joining part, the bar having a bar end restrictedly positioned between the two sidewalls of the corner joining part. 
     
     
         15 . The playpen according to  claim 14 , wherein the bar and the two sidewalls of the corner joining part extend at a same side of the upper frame assembly. 
     
     
         16 . The playpen according to  claim 14 , wherein the bar end is fixedly connected to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         17 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , wherein the first side frame portion is an unfoldable side frame portion, and the second side frame portion is a foldable side frame portion. 
     
     
         18 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , further comprising a locking mechanism having a latch operable to lock the standing leg in an unfolded position relative to the upper frame assembly, the latch being at least partially received between the two sidewalls of the corner joining part while the standing leg is locked in the unfolded position. 
     
     
         19 . The playpen according to  claim 18 , wherein the latch is coupled to the standing leg, and is movable along with the standing leg as the standing leg rotates relative to the corner joining part. 
     
     
         20 . The playpen according to  claim 11 , wherein the coupling part is pivotally connected to the corner joining part about a pivot axis, the pivot axis extending substantially vertically when the playpen stands on a floor surface.
