Abstract
Methods are provided for treating an infectious disease of a subject with a composition which comprises an active ingredient that can be produced by bacteria of Paenibacillus or Bacillus. The disclosure also provides a composition or a pharmaceutical composition which comprises, or alternatively consists essentially of, or yet further consists of an active ingredient which can be produced by bacteria of Paenibacillus or Bacillus.
Claims

. A method of preventing or treating an infection by a pathogen in an animal, the method comprising administering to the animal an effective amount of i) a Paenibacillus bacteria, wherein the Paenibacillus bacteria comprises MS1479 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124701), MS2379 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124703), MS2414 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124704), or MS2820 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124710), or ii) a Bacillus bacteria, wherein the Bacillus bacteria comprises MS0633 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124700), MS2335 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124702), MS2652 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124705), MS2658 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124706), MS2681 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124707), MS2697 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124708), MS2712 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124709), or MS2341, or MS2337; and wherein the pathogen comprises an infectious microbe.
. The method of claim 56 , wherein the animal is a non-human animal.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the administering comprises administering the Paenibacillus bacteria MS2379 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124703), the Paenibacillus bacteria MS2414 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124704), or the Paenibacillus bacteria MS2820 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124710).
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the infectious microbe comprises a bacterium.
. The method of claim 59 , wherein the bacterium comprises a gram-positive bacterium.
. The method of claim 60 , wherein the gram-positive bacterium comprises a Streptococcus sp.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the non-human animal is a pig.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the administering comprises oral administering.
. The method of claim 60 , wherein the gram-positive bacterium comprises an Enterococcus sp.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the non-human animal is a bird.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the administering comprises administering the Bacillus bacteria MS2652 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124705).
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the administering comprises administering the Bacillus bacteria MS2341, the Bacillus bacteria MS2337, the Bacillus bacteria MS0633 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124700), the Bacillus bacteria MS2335 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124702), the Bacillus bacteria MS2681 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124707), the Bacillus bacteria MS2697 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124708), or the Bacillus bacteria MS2712 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124709).
. The method of claim 60 , wherein the gram-positive bacterium comprises a Staphylococcus sp.
. The method of claim 68 , wherein the Staphylococcus sp. comprises Staphylococcus aureus.
. The method of claim 60 , wherein the gram-positive bacterium comprises Streptococcus agalactiae.
. The method of claim 59 , wherein the bacterium comprises a Klebsiella sp. or Escherichia coli.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the non-human animal comprises cattle.
. The method of claim 57 , wherein the administering comprises topical administering.
. A method comprising administering to an animal i) a Paenibacillus bacteria, wherein the Paenibacillus bacteria comprises MS1479 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124701), MS2379 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124703), MS2414 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124704), or MS2820 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124710), or ii) a Bacillus bacteria, wherein the Bacillus bacteria comprises MS2341, MS2337, MS0633 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124700), MS2335 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124702), MS2652 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124705), MS2658 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124706), MS2681 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124707), MS2697 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124708), or MS2712 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124709).
. The method of claim 74 , wherein the administering comprises administering the Bacillus bacteria MS0633 (ATCC Accession No. PTA-124700).
