Abstract

A putter having a body made from at least two separate components joined together. The putter including a hosel block located between the at least two separate components. The hosel block can be positioned at various locations in a front-to-back direction. The hosel block is configured to receive a shaft.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A putter comprising:
 a striking face;   a first body member including a rear portion extending rearward from said striking face; and   a second body member coupled to said first body member below said rear portion of said first body member,   wherein said rear portion of said first body member includes a first cavity elongated in a front-to-back direction and facing said second body member.   
     
     
         2 . The putter of  claim 1 , wherein said first body member includes an aperture configured to receive a shaft. 
     
     
         3 . The putter of  claim 2 , further comprising a hosel block positioned at least partially within said first cavity. 
     
     
         4 . The putter of  claim 3 , wherein said hosel block includes a hosel bore configured to receive said shaft. 
     
     
         5 . The putter of  claim 4 , wherein a center of gravity of said putter has a CG depth measured perpendicular to said striking face and rearward from said striking face, and
 wherein said CG depth is between 0.20 inches and 1.75 inches.   
     
     
         6 . The putter of  claim 5 , wherein a shaft axis of said shaft has a shaft axis depth measured perpendicular to said striking face and rearward from said striking face, and
 wherein said shaft axis depth equals said CG depth.   
     
     
         7 . The putter of  claim 6 , wherein said shaft axis goes through said center of gravity. 
     
     
         8 . The putter of  claim 7 , further comprising at least one weight member on a bottom portion of said second body member. 
     
     
         9 . The putter of  claim 8 , wherein said second body member includes a second cavity elongated in said front-to-back direction and facing said first cavity. 
     
     
         10 . The putter of  claim 9 , wherein said hosel block is positioned at least partially within said second cavity. 
     
     
         11 . A putter comprising:
 a striking face;   a first body member including a rear portion extending rearward from said striking face;   a second body member coupled to said first body member below said rear portion of said first body member; and   a hosel block located between said first body member and said second body member,   wherein said hosel block includes a hosel bore configured to receive a shaft.   
     
     
         12 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein said hosel block is positioned at least partially within a first cavity of said first body member,
 wherein said first cavity extends in a front-to-back direction and faces said second body member, and   wherein said hosel block is configured to be positioned at various locations within said first cavity.   
     
     
         13 . The putter of  claim 12 , wherein said hosel block is positioned at least partially within a second cavity of said second body member,
 wherein said second cavity extends in said front-to-back direction and faces said first body member, and   wherein said hosel block is configured to be positioned at various locations within said second cavity.   
     
     
         14 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein said first body member includes an aperture configured to receive said shaft. 
     
     
         15 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein a center of gravity of said putter has a CG depth measured perpendicular to said striking face and rearward from said striking face, and
 wherein said CG depth is between 0.20 inches and 1.75 inches.   
     
     
         16 . The putter of  claim 15 , wherein a shaft axis of said shaft has a shaft axis depth measured perpendicular to said striking face and rearward from said striking face, and
 wherein said shaft axis depth equals said CG depth.   
     
     
         17 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein a shaft axis of said shaft goes through a center of gravity of said putter. 
     
     
         18 . The putter of  claim 11 , further comprising at least one weight member on a bottom portion of said second body member. 
     
     
         19 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein said hosel block is secured within a first cavity of said first body member. 
     
     
         20 . The putter of  claim 11 , wherein said hosel block is configured to be positioned at various locations in a front-to-back direction.
