Airflow Chimney
Abstract
A capsule for an electronic cigarette is provided. In an embodiment, the capsule has a first end configured to engage with an electronic cigarette device and a second end having a vapor outlet, the capsule further comprises: a liquid store configured to contain a liquid to be vaporized; a vaporizer housing arranged to house at least a part of a heating element and a part of a fluid transfer element, where the fluid transfer element is arranged to deliver liquid from the liquid store to the heating element, the heating element being configured to vaporize the received liquid and generate a vapor; a seal arranged to hold the vaporizer housing; a holder arranged to attach to the seal; a main gas flow channel extending between the vaporizer housing and the vapor outlet to allow the generated vapor to flow from the vaporizer housing to the vapor outlet; a pair of electrodes, where the electrodes are arranged to provide an electrical connection between the first end of the capsule and an electronic cigarette device; where the holder comprises an airflow passageway.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A capsule for an electronic cigarette, the capsule having a first end configured to engage with an electronic cigarette device and a second end having a vapor outlet, the capsule further comprising:
a liquid store configured to contain a liquid to be vaporized; a vaporizer housing in which at least a part of a heater and at least a part of a wick are housed, wherein the wick is configured to deliver liquid from the liquid store to the heater, the heater being configured to vaporize the received liquid and generate a vapor; a holder comprising an airflow passageway including at least one groove on an external surface of the airflow passageway; and a main vapor channel extending through the holder, the vaporizer housing, and the vapor outlet to allow generated vapor to flow from the vaporizer housing to the vapor outlet.
2 . The capsule according to claim 1 , further comprising a seal connected to the vaporizer housing.
3 . The capsule according to claim 2 , further comprising a pair of electrodes configured to provide an electrical connection between the first end of the capsule and an electronic cigarette device.
4 . The capsule according to claim 2 , wherein the main vapor channel extends through the seal.
5 . The capsule according to claim 2 , wherein an interface is defined by an internal surface of the seal and an internal surface of the holder.
6 . The capsule according to claim 1 , wherein the vaporizer housing comprises a vaporizing chamber surrounding the airflow passageway.
7 . The capsule according to claim 1 , wherein the airflow passageway is located substantially centrally within a surface of the holder.
8 . The capsule according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the at least one groove is substantially straight.
9 . The capsule according to claim 1 , wherein at least one of the at least one groove extends longitudinally along the external surface of the airflow passageway.
10 . The capsule according to claim 1 , wherein the holder comprises at least one channel located within an internal surface of the holder.
11 . The capsule according to claim 10 , wherein at least one of the at least one groove is in fluid communication with at least one of the at least one channel.
12 . An electronic cigarette comprising a main body and the capsule according to claim 1 , wherein the main body comprises a power supply unit, electrical circuitry, and a capsule seating configured to connect with the capsule.
13 . A capsule for an electronic cigarette, the capsule having a first end configured to engage with an electronic cigarette device and a second end having a vapor outlet, the capsule further comprising:
a liquid store configured to contain a liquid to be vaporized; a vaporizer housing in which at least a part of a heater and at least a part of a wick are housed, wherein the wick is configured to deliver liquid from the liquid store to the heater, the heater being configured to vaporize the received liquid and generate a vapor; a holder comprising an airflow passageway and at least one channel on an internal surface of the holder; and a main vapor channel extending through the holder, the vaporizer housing, and the vapor outlet to allow generated vapor to flow from the vaporizer housing to the vapor outlet.
14 . The capsule according to claim 13 , wherein the vaporizer housing comprises a vaporizing chamber surrounding the airflow passageway.
15 . The capsule according to claim 13 , wherein the airflow passageway is located substantially centrally within a surface of the holder.
16 . The capsule according to claim 13 , further comprising a seal connected to the vaporizer housing.
17 . The capsule according to claim 16 , further comprising a pair of electrodes configured to provide an electrical connection between the first end of the capsule and an electronic cigarette device.
18 . The capsule according to claim 16 , wherein the main vapor channel extends through the seal.
19 . An electronic cigarette comprising a main body and the capsule according to claim 13 , wherein the main body comprises a power supply unit, electrical circuitry, and a capsule seating configured to connect with the capsule.
20 . A capsule for an electronic cigarette, the capsule having a first end configured to engage with an electronic cigarette device and a second end having a vapor outlet, the capsule further comprising:
a liquid store configured to contain a liquid to be vaporized; a vaporizer housing in which at least a part of a heater and at least a part of a wick are housed, wherein the wick is configured to deliver liquid from the liquid store to the heater, the heater being configured to vaporize the received liquid and generate a vapor; a holder comprising an airflow passageway extending into the vaporizer housing, the airflow passageway including at least one groove on an external surface of the airflow passageway; and a main vapor channel extending between the vaporizer housing and the vapor outlet to allow generated vapor to flow from the vaporizer housing to the vapor outlet.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
