Abstract

A ventilation system having a main housing configured to be positioned adjacent to a room of a building structure, a blower configured to be positioned in the main housing and draw air out of the room of the building structure, and a grille configured to be releasably secured to one of the main housing and the blower to at least partially block view of the blower. The grille has a plate defining an inner side and an opposing outer side and a plurality of legs extending from the plate and angled outwardly at an angle to the plate. The angle of the legs facilitates nested stacking of the grille with a second grille configured identically to the grille.

We claim:

         1 . A ventilation system comprising:
a main housing configured to be positioned adjacent to a room of a building structure, a blower configured to be positioned in the main housing and draw air out of the room of the building structure, and a grille configured to be releasably secured to one of the main housing and the blower to at least partially block view of the blower, the grille comprising:
a plate defining an inner side and an opposing outer side,
a plurality of legs extending from the plate and angled outwardly at an angle to the plate,
wherein the angle of the legs facilitates nested stacking of the grille with a second grille configured identically to the grille.

2 . The ventilation system of claim 1 , wherein the plate is flat.

3 . The ventilation system of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of legs comprises four legs.

4 . The ventilation system of claim 1 , wherein the plate defines a periphery and the plurality of legs extend from the plate periphery.

5 . The ventilation system of claim 1 , wherein the plate is rectangular and the plurality of legs comprises four legs, one located at each corner of the plate.

6 . The ventilation system of claim 1 , wherein the plate defines a periphery and the grille further defines a rail extending from the plate periphery between two adjacent ones of the plurality of legs.

7 . A grille for a ventilation system, the grille comprising:
a plate defining an inner side and an opposing outer side, a plurality of legs extending from the plate inner side and angled outwardly at an angle to the plate, wherein the angle of the legs facilitates nested stacking of the grille with a second grille configured identically to the grille.

8 . The ventilation system of claim 7 , wherein the plate is flat.

9 . The ventilation system of claim 7 , wherein the plurality of legs comprises four legs.

10 . The ventilation system of claim 7 , wherein the plate defines a periphery and the plurality of legs extend from the periphery.

11 . The ventilation system of claim 7 , wherein the plate is rectangular and the plurality of legs comprises four legs, one located at each corner of the plate.

12 . The ventilation system of claim 7 , wherein the plate defines a periphery and the grille further defines a rail extending from the plate periphery between two adjacent ones of the plurality of legs.

13 . A stack of grilles configured for a ventilation system, the stack comprising a first grille and a second grille, and each of the first and second grilles comprising:
a plate defining an inner side and an opposing outer side, a plurality of legs extending from the plate and angled outwardly at an angle to the plate, wherein the angle of the legs facilitates nested stacking of the first grille with the second grille.

14 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein each of the first and second grilles comprises one or more of a grille spring anchor, a grille spring retainer and a nub extending from the plate inner side, wherein the plate outer side of the first grille rests on the grille spring anchor, the grille spring retainer and/or the nub of the second grille.

15 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the plate of each of the first and second grilles is flat.

16 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the plate of each of the first and second grilles defines a periphery and the plurality of legs extend from the plate periphery.

17 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the plate of each of the first and second grilles is rectangular and the plurality of legs comprises four legs, one located at each corner of the plate.

18 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the legs of each of the first and second grilles comprise a curved wall.

19 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the plate of each of the first and second grilles defines a periphery and a rail extends from the plate periphery between two adjacent ones of the plurality of legs.

20 . The stack of grilles of claim 13 , wherein the legs of each of the first and second grilles is angled outwardly 18 degrees from perpendicular to the plate.
