Abstract
An artificial eyelash extension system is described. The system uses a plurality of eyelash filaments. A support strip is attached to the bases of the eyelash filaments. An adhesive element is applied before the artificial eyelash extension system is packaged for sale to a user. A method for applying artificial eyelash extensions is also described.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An artificial eyelash system comprising:
a plurality of eyelash segments; and a package configured to store the plurality of eyelash segments prior to sale to a user, wherein a width of each of the plurality of eyelash segments is one quarter to one third the width of the user's natural eyelashes, wherein each of the plurality of eyelash segments comprises:
a plurality of eyelash filaments having an upward-facing surface and a downward-facing surface, each of the plurality of eyelash filaments comprising a base and a tip; and
an adhesive element disposed on the upward-facing surface of the plurality of eyelash filaments, wherein the adhesive element:
extends from the base of each of the plurality of eyelash filaments toward the tip of each of the plurality of eyelash filaments,
is adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of additional adhesive to the plurality of eyelash filaments or the user's natural eyelashes, and
is applied before the plurality of eyelash segments are placed in the package.
2 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of eyelash segments further comprises a support strip and each of the plurality of eyelash filaments is attached to the support strip without knotting the plurality of eyelash filaments to the support strip.
3 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that does not completely coalesce during storage of the plurality of eyelash segments in the package.
4 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that is adapted so the plurality of eyelash segments adhere to the underside of the
user's natural eyelashes when moved into contact with the user's natural eyelashes, without squeezing the user's natural eyelashes and the plurality of eyelash segments together.
5 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 1 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that is adapted so the plurality of eyelash segments can be removed from the underside of the user's natural eyelashes with the user's hand without also removing the user's natural lashes.
6 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 1 , wherein:the adhesive element comprises an upward-facing adhesive and a downward-facing adhesive, andthe downward-facing adhesive contacts the plurality of eyelash filaments.
7 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 6 , wherein the adhesive element comprises a double-sided tape.
8 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 6 , wherein the upward-facing adhesive and the downward-facing adhesive have different strengths of adhesion.
9 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 8 , wherein the strength of adhesion between the upward-facing adhesive and the underside of the user's natural eyelashes is less than the strength of adhesion between the downward-facing adhesive and the plurality of eyelash filaments such that the plurality of eyelash segments can be removed from the underside of the user's natural eyelashes without the adhesive element being removed from the eyelash segments.
10 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 9 , wherein the upward-facing adhesive is overlaid with a removable substrate before the plurality of eyelash segments are placed in the package.
11 . An artificial eyelash system comprising:
two or more eyelash extensions; and a package configured to store the two or more eyelash extensions prior to sale to a user, wherein each of the two or more eyelash extensions comprises:
a plurality of eyelash filaments having an upward-facing surface and a downward-facing surface, each of the plurality of eyelash filaments comprising a base and a tip; and
an adhesive element disposed on the upward-facing surface of the plurality of eyelash filaments, wherein the adhesive element:
extends from the base of each of the plurality of eyelash filaments toward the tip of each of the plurality of eyelash filaments,
is adapted to adhere to an underside of the user's natural eyelashes without application of additional adhesive to the plurality of eyelash filaments or the user's natural eyelashes, and
is applied before the two or more eyelash extensions are placed in the package.
12 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 11 , wherein each of the two or more eyelash extensions further comprises a support strip and each of the plurality of eyelash filaments is attached to the support strip without knotting the plurality of eyelash filaments to the support strip.
13 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that does not completely coalesce during storage of the two or more eyelash extensions in the package.
14 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that is adapted so the two or more eyelash extensions adhere to the underside of the user's natural eyelashes when moved into contact with the user's natural eyelashes, without squeezing the user's natural eyelashes and the two or more eyelash extensions together.
15 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 11 , wherein the adhesive element comprises an adhesive that is adapted so the two or more eyelash extensions can be removed from the
underside of the user's natural eyelashes with the user's hand without also removing the user's natural lashes.
16 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 11 , wherein:the adhesive element comprises an upward-facing adhesive and a downward-facing adhesive, andthe downward-facing adhesive contacts the plurality of eyelash filaments.
17 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 16 , wherein the adhesive element comprises a double-sided tape.
18 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 16 , wherein the upward-facing adhesive and the downward-facing adhesive have different strengths of adhesion.
19 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 18 , wherein the strength of adhesion between the upward-facing adhesive and the underside of the user's natural eyelashes is less than the strength of adhesion between the downward-facing adhesive and the plurality of eyelash filaments, such that the two or more eyelash extensions can be removed from the underside of the user's natural eyelashes without the adhesive element being removed from the eyelash extensions.
20 . The artificial eyelash system of claim 19 , wherein the upward-facing adhesive is overlaid with a removable substrate before the two or more eyelash extensions are placed in the package.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
