Abstract
The present fire pit system includes a fire pit stand, wherein a fire pit body can rest upon the fire pit stand. The fire pit stand protects below surfaces (e.g., floor, ground, etc.) from high heat. The fire pit stand also increases airflow.

1 . A fire pit system, comprising:
a fire pit stand adapted to be placed on a placement surface; and a fire pit body adapted to sit atop the fire pit stand, the fire pit body defining a body top end portion and a body bottom end portion, the fire pit body comprising:
an interior body wall and an exterior body wall, the interior body wall positioned inside and spaced apart from the exterior body wall by a gap to permit an upward flow of air therebetween;
wherein the interior body wall at least partially defines a burn chamber; and
wherein the exterior body wall defines:
a tubular shape extending around the interior body wall, from the body bottom end portion to the body top end portion, so as to circumferentially enclose the interior body wall; and
a first outside diameter at the body bottom end portion;
and
one or more inwardly-facing body openings positioned at the body top end portion to permit a flow of air from the gap between the interior body wall and the exterior body wall into the burn chamber;
wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
a height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than a third of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
2 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein the fire pit body is removable from atop the fire pit stand.
3 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein the fire pit stand includes a stand wall having one or more stand openings.
4 . The fire pit system of claim 3 , wherein, when the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand, the one or more stand openings are adapted to channel air to a bottom of a fire to fuel primary combustion.
5 . The fire pit system of claim 3 , wherein, when the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand, the one or more stand openings are adapted to channel air up between the interior body wall and the exterior body wall, and through the one or more inwardly-facing body openings, to fuel secondary combustion.
6 . The fire pit system of claim 3 , wherein the interior body wall defines a first inside diameter.
7 . The fire pit system of claim 6 , wherein the first inside diameter defined by the interior body wall is greater than a second outside diameter defined by the stand wall having the one or more stand openings.
8 . The fire pit system of claim 6 , wherein the fire pit body further comprises an upper ring defining a second inside diameter;
wherein the second inside diameter defined by the upper ring is positioned above and vertically spaced apart from the body top end portion; and wherein the one or more inwardly-facing body openings are disposed below the upper ring at the body top end portion.
9 . The fire pit system of claim 8 , wherein the upper ring is removable from atop the body top end portion.
10 . The fire pit system of claim 8 , wherein the second inside diameter defined by the upper ring is less than the first inside diameter defined by the interior body wall.
11 . The fire pit system of claim 8 , wherein the second inside diameter defined by the upper ring is less than a second outside diameter defined by the stand wall having the one or more stand openings.
12 . The fire pit system of claim 3 , wherein the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall of the fire pit body is greater than a second outside diameter defined by the stand wall having the one or more stand openings.
13 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein the one or more inwardly-facing body openings are formed through the interior body wall.
14 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein the fire pit body further comprises:
one or more additional body openings positioned at the body bottom end portion.
15 . The fire pit system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more additional body openings positioned at the body bottom end portion are adapted to channel air to a bottom of a fire to fuel primary combustion.
16 . The fire pit system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more additional body openings positioned at the body bottom end portion are adapted to channel air up between the interior body wall and the exterior body wall, and through the one or more inwardly-facing body openings, to fuel secondary combustion.
17 . The fire pit system of claim 14 , wherein the one or more additional body openings are formed through the exterior body wall.
18 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
the height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than a fourth of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
19 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
the height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than a fifth of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
20 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
the height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than a sixth of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
21 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
the height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than an eighth of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
22 . The fire pit system of claim 1 , wherein, when the fire pit stand is placed on the placement surface and the fire pit body sits atop the fire pit stand:
the height by which the body bottom end portion is spaced above the placement surface is less than a ninth of the first outside diameter defined by the exterior body wall at the body bottom end portion.
