Abstract

The present disclosure provides techniques, systems, and devices that support indicating gun state information. One or more electronic components may be used to indicate the gun state information, and the electronic components may be coupled with a gun. The gun may identify a state of the gun based on a compute component including a data signal, and the compute component may be coupled with the gun. The gun may select a representation of the state of the gun, where the representation of the state of the gun is compatible with an electronic component coupled with the gun. The gun may indicate, at the electronic component and based on the compute component, the state of the gun with the representation of the state of the gun. Indicating the state of the gun may include displaying an icon, illuminating the electronic component with a color, or pulsating the electronic component.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of indicating gun information to a user, the method comprising:
 determining a battery level remaining in a battery of a gun;   determining that the battery level is within a battery level range;   identifying, based on a configuration file defining multiple battery level ranges, a color representing the battery level range; and   illuminating, with the color, a light-emitting diode (LED) located below a slide when the gun is in an upright position, wherein a display panel including a visually transparent icon is positioned so as to illuminate the icon with the color representing the battery level range.   
     
     
         2 . A method of indicating gun information, the method comprising:
 determining a battery level remaining in a battery of a gun;   identifying a color representing the battery level; and   illuminating, with the color, a light-emitting diode (LED) located below a slide when the gun is in an upright position.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , further including:
 charging the battery in response to receiving power from an external power supply; and   illuminating multiple LEDs sequentially so as to indicate that the battery is being charged.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the multiple LEDs are arranged in a line such that the illuminating the multiple LEDs sequentially produces a linear motion effect. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 3 , wherein the multiple LEDs are arranged in a circle such that the illuminating the multiple LEDs sequentially produces a circular motion effect. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein a light pipe is located proximate to the LED so as to direct light from the LED to a display panel located below the slide when the gun is in the upright position. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein a display panel including an icon is positioned so as to illuminate the icon with the color representing the battery level. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 2 , further comprising:
 generating, in response to the determining the battery level, a haptic pulse indicating the battery level.   
     
     
         9 . An electromechanical gun comprising:
 a battery pack configured to store electric charge;   a charge sensor configured to determine a battery power level of the battery pack; and   a display panel configured to visually indicate the battery power level.   
     
     
         10 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 9 , further comprising:
 a light-emitting diode (LED) configured to selectively illuminate to indicate the battery power level.   
     
     
         11 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 10 , wherein the LED is further configured to illuminate with a color that represents the battery power level. 
     
     
         12 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 10 , wherein the LED is further configured to illuminate according to a pulse pattern that represents the battery power level. 
     
     
         13 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 10 , further including:
 a light pipe located proximate to the LED, wherein the light pipe is configured to direct light from the LED to the display panel.   
     
     
         14 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 10 , wherein the display panel includes an icon that is visually transparent, and wherein the electromechanical gun is configured to illuminate the icon based on the LED to indicate the battery power level. 
     
     
         15 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 9 , wherein the display panel is further configured to indicate error information about the electromechanical gun. 
     
     
         16 . The electromechanical gun of  claim 9 , wherein the display panel is a touch sensitive display panel.
