Abstract
A transaction is pre-staged by providing transaction preferences, such as a financial instrument, a transaction type, and a transaction amount, to a user device. The user device captures a visual code at a terminal, such as an ATM. The visual code includes terminal attributes, including a signed hash and call-back URI. The user device authenticates the visual code using the signed hash and requests the transaction through the issuer server. The issuer server creates and sends the card data to the call-back URI. The terminal uses the card data to create a transaction request it routes to through its acquirer server.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A computer-implemented method performed by one or more processors, the method comprising:
receiving a staging request originating from a mobile device executing a mobile application, the staging request indicating an amount of funds to be withdrawn during a cardless transaction; applying a transaction reference identifier to the staging request for the cardless transaction; after applying the transaction reference identifier to the staging request, receiving a fulfillment request for the cardless transaction from the mobile device executing the mobile application, the fulfilment request comprising a callback URI (uniform resource indicator) decoded by the mobile device from a visual code captured by the mobile device at a display of a terminal device corresponding to the callback URI, the fulfilment request further comprising the transaction reference identifier applied to the staging request and a transaction preference selected at the mobile device from a set of transaction preferences limited based on capabilities of the terminal device and provided by the visual code; and using the callback URI from the visual code, providing the fulfillment request to the terminal device, thereby causing the terminal device to initiate a transaction request to an issuing authorization system and disburse funds in accordance with the amount of funds indicated in the staging request and the transaction preference.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the terminal device performs an authentication method comprising one of a secure PIN (personal identification number) request or biometric identification after the fulfilment request is provided to the terminal device.
3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the limited set of transaction preferences excludes denominations not contained by the terminal device and a denomination is selected as the transaction preference from the limited set of transaction preferences.
4 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising synching the mobile application and an issuer server after fulfillment of the cardless transaction.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the staging request is polled from a distributed ledger.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the fulfillment request provided to the terminal device further comprises an HCE (host card emulation) token.
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the transaction preference comprises a particular account or account type.
8 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and one or more computer storage media storing computer-usable instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform a method comprising:
receiving a fulfillment request for a cardless transaction from a mobile device executing a mobile application, the fulfilment request comprising a callback URI (uniform resource indicator) decoded by the mobile device from a visual code captured by the mobile device at a display of a terminal device corresponding to the callback URI, the fulfilment request further comprising a transaction preference and an amount of funds to be withdrawn from the cardless transaction provided to the mobile device as pre-staged information prior to communicating the fulfillment request, the transaction preference selected at the mobile device from a set of transaction preferences limited based on capabilities of the terminal device and provided by the visual code; and
using the callback URI from the visual code, providing the fulfillment request to the terminal device, thereby causing the terminal device to initiate a transaction request to an issuing authorization system and disburse funds in accordance with the amount and the transaction preference.
9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the terminal device performs an authentication method comprising one of a secure PIN (personal identification number) request or biometric identification after the fulfilment request is provided to the terminal device.
10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the limited set of transaction preferences excludes denominations not contained by the terminal device and a denomination is selected as the transaction preference from the limited set of transaction preferences.
11 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising synching the mobile application and an issuer server after fulfillment of the cardless transaction.
12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the pre-staged information is polled from a distributed ledger.
13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the fulfillment request provided to the terminal device further comprises an HCE (host card emulation) token.
14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the transaction preference comprises a particular account or account type.
15 . One or more computer storage media storing computer-useable instructions that, when used by at least one processor of a mobile device, cause the mobile device to perform operations comprising:
receiving a fulfillment request for a cardless transaction from a mobile device executing a mobile application, the fulfilment request comprising a callback URI (uniform resource indicator) decoded by the mobile device from a visual code captured by the mobile device at a display of a terminal device corresponding to the callback URI, the fulfilment request further comprising a transaction preference and an amount of funds to be withdrawn from the cardless transaction, the transaction preference selected at the mobile device from a set of transaction preferences limited based on capabilities of the terminal device and provided by the visual code; and using the callback URI from the visual code, providing the fulfillment request to the terminal device, thereby causing the terminal device to initiate a transaction request to an issuing authorization system and disburse funds in accordance with the amount and the transaction preference.
16 . The media of claim 15 , wherein the terminal device performs an authentication method comprising one of a secure PIN (personal identification number) request or biometric identification after the fulfilment request is provided to the terminal device.
17 . The media of claim 15 , wherein the limited set of transaction preferences excludes denominations not contained by the terminal device and a denomination is selected as the transaction preference from the limited set of transaction preferences.
18 . The media of claim 15 , further comprising synching the mobile application and an issuer server after fulfillment of the cardless transaction.
19 . The media of claim 15 , wherein the fulfillment request provided to the terminal device further comprises an HCE (host card emulation) token.
20 . The media of claim 15 , wherein the transaction preference comprises a particular account or account type.Cited by (0)
