Gameplay area system
Abstract
In some examples, a gameplay area system comprises a playmat including a middle section. The playmat may comprise a first side section rotatably coupled to the middle section enabling the first side section to fold over the middle section, the first side section comprising at least one closing magnet. According to some examples, the playmat comprises a second side section rotatably coupled to the middle section opposite the first side section, enabling the second side section to fold over the middle section and the first side section. The second side section may comprise at least one mat magnet. The at least one mat magnet may be configured to magnetically couple to the at least one closing magnet while the first side section is folded over the middle section and while the second side section is folded over the middle section and the first side section.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedI claim:
1 . A gameplay system, comprising:
a playmat comprising:
a first end;
a second end opposite the first end;
a first mat magnet disposed within the playmat near the first end; and
a second mat magnet disposed within the playmat near the second end,
the playmat configured to transition between an open position and a closed position,
wherein, when the playmat is in the open position, the playmat comprises a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface, and
wherein, when the playmat is in the closed position, the playmat is configured to be folded such that the first mat magnet magnetically couples to the second mat magnet, thereby maintaining the closed position of the playmat; and
a box comprising:
a housing;
an interior located within the housing; and
a box magnet disposed within a surface of the housing,
wherein, when the playmat is in the open position, the box magnet is configured to magnetically couple to the first mat magnet or the second mat magnet, thereby maintaining a position of the box with respect to the playmat in the open position, and
wherein, when the playmat is in the closed position, the box magnet is configured to magnetically couple to the first mat magnet or the second mat magnet, thereby maintaining a position of the box with respect to the playmat in the closed position.
2 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the bottom surface comprises a rubber backer.
3 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the top surface comprises a cloth surface.
4 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein i) the first mat magnet covers at least a portion of the first end, ii) the second mat magnet covers at least a portion of the second end, or iii) both.
5 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the playmat comprises:
a first section comprising the first end and the first mat magnet; and a second section rotatably coupled to the first section, the second section comprising the second end and the second mat magnet,
wherein, in the closed position, the second section folds over the first section, causing the first mat magnet to magnetically couple with the second mat magnet.
6 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the playmat comprises:
a middle section; a first section rotatably coupled to the middle section, the first section comprising the first end and the first mat magnet; and a second section rotatably coupled to the middle section opposite the first section, the second section comprising the second end and the second mat magnet,
wherein, in the closed position, the first section folds over the middle section, and the second section folds over each of the middle section and the first section, causing the first mat magnet to magnetically couple with the second mat magnet.
7 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the playmat comprises:
a first section; a second section rotatably coupled to the first section, enabling the second section to fold with respect to the first section; a third section rotatably coupled to the second section, enabling the third section to fold with respect to the second section; and a fourth section rotatably coupled to the third section, enabling the fourth section to fold with respect to the third section.
8 . The gameplay system of claim 7 , wherein i) the first section, ii) the second section, iii) the third section, or iv) the fourth section comprises the first end and the first mat magnet,
wherein i) the first section, ii) the second section, iii) the third section, or iv) the fourth section comprises the second end and the second mat magnet, and wherein the first mat magnet is disposed on a different section than the second mat magnet.
9 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the box comprises a folding deck box sized to retain at least a playing card, and wherein the housing comprises:
a folding deck box housing; and a flap rotatably coupled to a wall of the folding deck box housing, such that the flap is rotatable with respect to the folding deck box housing to permit access to the interior.
10 . The gameplay system of claim 9 , wherein the folding deck box housing comprises a folding deck box housing magnet,
wherein the flap comprises a flap magnet, and wherein the flap magnet is configured to magnetically couple to the folding deck box housing magnet when the folding deck box is in a closed configuration.
11 . The gameplay system of claim 10 , wherein the box magnet is i) the flap magnet or ii) the folding deck box housing magnet.
12 . The gameplay system of claim 10 , wherein the box magnet is different than the flap magnet and the folding deck box housing magnet.
13 . The gameplay system of claim 10 , wherein the flap comprises a window.
14 . The gameplay system of claim 13 , wherein the window is i) optically translucent, ii) optically transparent, or iii) optically opaque.
15 . The gameplay system of claim 1 , wherein the box comprises a two-piece deck box sized to retain at least a playing card, and wherein the housing comprises:
a top section comprising a top section housing; and a bottom section comprising a bottom section housing, the bottom section detachably coupled to the top section.
16 . The gameplay system of claim 15 , wherein i) the top section housing or ii) the bottom section housing comprises the box magnet.
17 . The gameplay system of claim 15 , wherein the bottom section housing comprises an inset lip about a perimeter of the bottom section housing, the inset lip configured to be received by the top section housing when the two-piece deck box is in a closed configuration.
