Prefabricated multi-conduit building panel design
Abstract
Prefabricated wall panels simplify the constructive of building units and other structures. The prefabricated wall panels can include a set of conduits pre-installed within the wall panels that enable simplified installation and conduit routing within a building unit or structure. The set of conduits can include electrical conduit, plumbing conduit, HVAC conduit, networking conduit, fire alarm conduit, and fire sprinkler conduit. The prefabricated wall panels can include above-door cavities to assist with structure design and coupling conduits between prefabricated panels. The prefabricated panels can additionally include dual-headed fire sprinklers that enable one fire sprinkler conduit to spray into multiple rooms, reducing the overall number of fire sprinkler conduits required within a structure.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A prefabricated wall panel comprising:
a front surface; a rear surface; a plurality of supports coupled between the front surface and the rear surface such that the front surface and the rear surface are separated by a threshold distance; a set of conduits embedded between the front surface and the rear surface and between a first support and a second support, the set of conduits comprising HVAC conduit, an electrical conduit, plumbing conduit, a fire alarm conduit, a fire sprinkler conduit, and a digital communications conduit; and a set of conduit couplings configured to couple to a reciprocal set of conduit couplings in an adjacent wall panel or ceiling panel such that the set of conduits can be coupled to a reciprocal set of conduits in the adjacent wall panel or ceiling panel via the set of conduit couplings.
2 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the set of conduits is positioned vertically within the prefabricated wall panel.
3 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the prefabricated wall panel is configured to physically couple to additional wall panels and to a ceiling panel such that one or more conduits within the set of conduits are configured to couple to a reciprocal set of conduits within one of the additional wall panels and the ceiling panel.
4 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the set of conduits is configured to couple to a reciprocal set of conduits within a second wall panel in a second room above the room, and wherein the second wall panel is positioned either immediately above the prefabricated wall panel or at an offset relative to the prefabricated wall panel.
5 . The prefabricated wall panel of claim 1 , wherein the set of conduit couplings comprises either a single coupling housing coupled to each of the set of conduits or a plurality of coupling housings each coupled to one or more of the set of conduits.Cited by (0)
