Abstract
An oven is provided, which includes a domed ceiling, a baking stone located below the domed ceiling, a cooking chamber between the domed ceiling and the baking stone, a front opening that provides access to the cooking chamber for food and utensils, a combustion chamber adjacent to, and at least partially below, the cooking chamber, and a rear opening that provides access to the combustion chamber.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An oven, comprising:
a top surface; a domed ceiling disposed below the top surface; a baking stone disposed below the domed ceiling; an insulating air space disposed below the baking stone; a first air inlet configured to admit first airflow into the insulating air space; a second air inlet different from the first air inlet; a combustion chamber configured to receive second airflow from the second air inlet and the first airflow from the insulating air space; a cooking chamber disposed adjacent to the combustion chamber between the domed ceiling and the baking stone,
wherein the cooking chamber is configured to receive third airflow from the combustion chamber, the third airflow comprising air heated in the combustion chamber, and
wherein the domed ceiling is shaped and disposed to direct the third airflow over the baking stone to heat food on the baking stone in the cooking chamber;
a front opening that provides access to the cooking chamber and sized to accommodate food to be cooked in the oven; and a gas burner disposed within the combustion chamber and configured to supply heat to the third airflow when a gas of the gas burner is combusted.
2 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising a front lip positioned at a top edge of the front opening, the front lip configured to affect air flow within the cooking chamber.
3 . The oven of claim 2 , further comprising a flow disruptor disposed adjacent the front lip configured to further affect air flow within the cooking chamber, thus forming a convective air dam.
4 . The oven of claim 1 , wherein a height of the front opening has a ratio to a height of a highest feature of the domed ceiling above the baking stone that accommodate a Fibonacci spiral.
5 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising a heat shield disposed between the baking stone and the combustion chamber and extending to an elevation above the baking stone, the heat shield separating the cooking chamber from the combustion chamber.
6 . The oven of claim 1 , wherein the baking stone comprises two separate, symmetrical pieces, wherein each piece is sized to pass through the front opening.
7 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising a control knob for the gas burner.
8 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising an igniter for the gas burner.
9 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising an inner wall and an outer wall.
10 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising a baking stone tray that supports the baking stone.
11 . The oven of claim 1 , further comprising a bottom pan disposed below the insulating air space, wherein the bottom pan is spaced from a surface on which the oven rests.
12 . The oven of claim 1 , wherein the gas burner is arc shaped.
13 . The oven of claim 1 , wherein the baking stone comprises a cutout configured to accommodate the gas burner.
14 . An oven, comprising:
a flat top surface; a domed ceiling disposed below the top surface; a first air space disposed between the top surface and the domed ceiling; a baking stone disposed below the domed ceiling, the baking stone comprising a plurality of symmetrical pieces; a second air space disposed below the baking stone; a front air inlet configured to admit a first airflow into the second air space; a rear air inlet opposite the front air inlet; a combustion chamber configured to receive a second airflow from the rear air inlet and the first airflow from the second air space, the first airflow and the second airflow comprising ambient air; a cooking chamber disposed adjacent to the combustion chamber between the domed ceiling and the baking stone,
wherein the cooking chamber is configured to receive a third airflow from the combustion chamber, the third airflow comprising air heated in the combustion chamber, and
wherein the domed ceiling is shaped and disposed to direct the third airflow over the baking stone to heat food on the baking stone in the cooking chamber;
an opening that provides access to the cooking chamber and sized to receive food to be cooked in the oven; and a gas burner disposed within the combustion chamber and configured to supply heat to the third airflow when a gas of the gas burner is combusted.
15 . The oven of claim 14 , further comprising a front lip positioned at a top edge of the front opening, the front lip configured to affect air flow within the cooking chamber.
16 . The oven of claim 15 , further comprising a flow disruptor disposed adjacent the front lip configured to further affect air flow within the cooking chamber, thus forming a convective air dam.
17 . The oven of claim 14 , wherein the third airflow comprises a Fibonacci spiral.
18 . The oven of claim 14 , wherein the gas burner comprises at least one of a control knob or an igniter.
19 . The oven of claim 14 , further comprising:
an inner wall; an outer wall; and a third air space disposed between the inner wall and the outer wall.
20 . The oven of claim 14 , wherein the gas burner is arc shaped, and wherein the baking stone comprises a cutout configured to accommodate the arc shape.Cited by (0)
