An assembly comprising a firearm slide and an adaptor plate configured to mate with the firearm slide. The adapter plate includes a first seat in a top surface of the adaptor plate and a second seat in the top surface of the adaptor plate. The assembly also includes a first iron sight configured to mate with the first seat and a second iron sight configured to mate with the second seat.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . An assembly, comprising:
a firearm slide; an adaptor plate configured to mate with the firearm slide, wherein the adaptor plate comprises a first recess in a top surface of the adaptor plate and a second recess in the top surface of the adaptor plate; a first sight configured to mate with the first recess; and a second sight configured to mate with the second recess.
2 . The assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a reflector sight configured to be attached to the adaptor plate.
3 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the adaptor plate comprises a stud and a first anchor.
4 . The assembly of claim 3 , wherein the firearm slide comprises:
a recess configured to receive the adaptor plate; a catch configured to mate with the first anchor; and a slot configured to mate with the stud.
5 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first sight comprises a second anchor.
6 . The assembly of claim 5 , wherein the second anchor comprises:
a first anchor portion extending from a bottom side of the first sight; and a second anchor portion extending from the first anchor portion.
7 . The assembly of claim 6 , wherein the first anchor portion extends in a lateral direction away from the bottom side of the first sight, and wherein the second anchor portion extends substantially perpendicular to the first anchor portion.
8 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first sight and the second sight are iron sights.
9 . The assembly of claim 2 , wherein the reflector sight is configured to secure the first sight and the second sight in position when the reflector sight is attached to the adaptor plate.
10 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the adaptor plate further comprises a joint disposed between the first recess and the second recess, the joint configured to receive a reflector sight.
11 . The assembly of claim 10 , wherein the joint comprises joint sidewalls extending at an angle from the top surface of the adaptor plate to form a male dovetail.
12 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first recess and the second recess are disposed on opposite sides of the adaptor plate.
13 . A firearm system, comprising:
a firearm slide having a recess formed in a top surface thereof, the recess including a base surface, a first slide wall, a second slide wall opposite the first slide wall, a catch disposed adjacent to the first slide wall, and a slot disposed in the second slide wall; and an adaptor plate configured to be received within the recess, the adaptor plate comprising:
a top surface and a bottom surface,
a stud extending from a rear side of the adaptor plate and configured to engage the slot,
an anchor extending from a front side of the adaptor plate and configured to engage the catch, and
a plurality of recesses formed in the top surface and configured to receive sights.
14 . The firearm system of claim 13 , wherein the adaptor plate further comprises a joint disposed on the top surface between the plurality of recesses.
15 . The firearm system of claim 14 , wherein the joint comprises joint sidewalls extending at an angle from the top surface to form a male dovetail configured to receive a reflector sight.
16 . The firearm system of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of recesses comprises a first recess and a second recess disposed on opposite sides of the adaptor plate.
17 . The firearm system of claim 13 , further comprising a first sight configured to be received in one of the plurality of recesses, the first sight comprising a leg extending from a bottom side thereof.
18 . The firearm system of claim 17 , wherein the leg comprises a first portion extending laterally from the bottom side and a second portion extending substantially perpendicular to the first portion.
19 . The firearm system of claim 13 , wherein the recess further comprises a rib extending between the first slide wall and the second slide wall, and wherein the adaptor plate comprises a rib channel on the bottom surface configured to engage the rib.
20 . The firearm system of claim 13 , wherein the recess further comprises an ejector projection, and wherein the adaptor plate comprises an ejector notch on the bottom surface configured to engage the ejector projection.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
