Abstract

An adjustable bed base has a stationary frame and a stationary seat platform raised above the stationary frame via a riser. An articulating platform includes three platforms, head and foot platforms being hinged to the stationary seat platform. Front and rear linear actuators articulate the deck such that the head and foot platforms decline relative to the stationary seat platform when the linear actuators are retracted. The head and foot platforms may be inclined when the linear actuators are extended. In some configurations, all three platforms may be co-planar. The raised seat platform of the articulated platform facilitates those who sleep face down.
