Abstract

A garment, such as a bra, can include a closure system that facilitates operation by a user with limited dexterity. The closure system can include a first clasp member, a second clasp member, a first finger pocket dimensioned to receive a first finger, and a second finger pocket dimensioned to receive a second finger. In use, the wearer can insert first and second fingers into the respective finger pockets and pinch or otherwise move their fingers toward each other to move the first and second clasp members together. The first and second clasp members can be selectively coupled or decoupled to secure or remove the garment from the wearer.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . (canceled)

         2 . A bra, comprising:
 a band; a first panel extending from a front portion of the band; a second panel extending from the front portion of the band, lateral to the first panel; a first shoulder strap extending between the first panel and a back portion of the band; a second shoulder strap extending between the second panel and the back portion of the band; and a closure system disposed on the front portion of the bra and having an open configuration and a closed configuration, the closure system comprising:
 a first finger engaging portion proximate the first panel and configured to engage a thumb of a wearer;
 a second finger engaging portion proximate the second panel and configured to engage a finger on a same hand as the thumb;
 a first connecting portion proximate the first finger engaging portion; and
 a second connecting portion proximate the second finger engaging portion,
 wherein the first and second connecting portions are disengaged from one another in the open configuration and are connected in the closed configuration, and
 wherein the bra is configured to be secured at a front of the wearer by moving the thumb and the finger engaged with the respective first and second finger engaging portions toward one another to connect the first and second connecting portions.

         3 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portions are configured to be disconnected from one another by moving the thumb and the finger engaged with the respective first and second finger engaging portions toward one another.

         4 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first finger engaging portion and the second finger engaging portion comprises a pocket configured to receive the thumb or the finger on the same hand as the thumb.

         5 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first finger engaging portion and the second finger engaging portion comprises a loop configured to engage the thumb or the finger on the same hand as the thumb.

         6 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portion comprise one or more corresponding magnetic connectors.

         7 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portion comprise a hook and loop fastener.

         8 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portion comprise one or more corresponding mechanical clasps.

         9 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second finger engaging portions are disposed on the front portion of the band.

         10 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second finger engaging portions are disposed on the respective first and second panels.

         11 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the closure system extends between an edge of each of the first and second panels and the band.

         12 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first and second finger engaging portions are positioned lateral to the respective first and second connecting portions.

         13 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein at least one of the first and second finger engaging portions are stacked with the respective first and second connecting portions.

         14 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portions overlap when connected to one another.

         15 . The bra of claim 2 , wherein the first and second connecting portions extend medially past the respective first and second panels.

         16 . A method for securing a bra on a wearer, comprising:
 positioning shoulder straps of the bra over shoulders of the wearer such that first and second panels of the bra are arranged on a chest of the wearer, wherein the bra comprises a closure system disposed on a front portion of the bra that is open while positioning the shoulder straps of the bra over the shoulders of the wearer; engaging a thumb of the wearer with a first finger engaging portion of the closure system proximate the first panel; engaging a finger of a same hand as the thumb with a second finger engaging portion of the closure system proximate the second panel; and connecting a first connecting portion of the closure system that is proximate the first finger engaging portion and a second connecting portion of the closure system that is proximate the second finger engaging portion by moving the thumb and the finger engaged with the first and second finger engaging portions toward one another, thus closing the closure system to secure the bra at a front of the wearer.

         17 . The method of claim 16 , comprising disconnecting the first and second connecting portions from one another by moving the thumb and the finger engaged with the respective first and second finger engaging portions toward one another.

         18 . The method of claim 16 , wherein at least one of the first and second finger engaging portions comprises a pocket that receives the thumb or the finger on the same hand as the thumb.

         19 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first and second connecting portion comprise one or more corresponding magnetic connectors.

         20 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first and second connecting portion comprise one or more corresponding mechanical clasps.

         21 . The method of claim 16 , wherein the first and second connecting portions overlap when connected to one another.
