Single-use container comprising an aluminum alloy

Abstract

In an aspect, disclosed herein is a single-use container. A single-use container may include a sheet including a rim, a sidewall, and a bottom, a lid affixed to the rim, and a filter dividing the single-use container into a first compartment and a second compartment, wherein the first compartment contains coffee grounds. In some embodiments, the sheet may include aluminum 3004-H19. In some embodiments, the sheet may include aluminum 3104-H19. In some embodiments, the sheet may include aluminum 5182-H48.

1 . A single-use container comprising:
 a sheet comprising:
 a rim; 
 a sidewall, wherein the sidewall comprises a plurality of ribs, and wherein each rib of the plurality of ribs is arranged in an inward projecting pattern around the sidewall; and 
 a bottom; 
   a lid affixed to the rim; and   a filter dividing the single-use container into a first compartment and a second compartment, wherein the first compartment contains coffee grounds;   wherein the sheet comprises an aluminum alloy with a composition of 95.5% to 98.2% aluminum, less than or equal to 0.25% copper, less than or equal to 0.7% iron, 0.8% to 1.3% magnesium, 1% to 1.5% manganese, less than or equal to 0.3% silicon, less than or equal to 0.25% zinc, and less than or equal to 0.15% other.   
     
     
         2 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein an innermost layer of the sidewall comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         3 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein:
 the rim comprises a flat top surface;   the sheet comprises a stacking lip positioned below the rim; and   the sidewall comprises an inward tapering sidewall positioned below the stacking lip.   
     
     
         4 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, a first lubricant layer, a varnish layer, a printing ink layer, a primer layer, and an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         5 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy, and a coextrusion coating. 
     
     
         6 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein the filter comprises a paper filter. 
     
     
         7 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein the aluminum alloy comprises aluminum 3004-H19. 
     
     
         8 . A single-use container comprising:
 a sheet comprising:
 a rim; 
 a sidewall; and 
 a bottom; 
   a lid affixed to the rim; and   a filter dividing the single-use container into a first compartment and a second compartment, wherein the first compartment contains coffee grounds;   wherein the sheet comprises an aluminum alloy with a composition of 95.5% to 98.2% aluminum, 0.05% to 0.25% copper, less than or equal to 0.05% gallium, less than or equal to 0.8% iron, 0.8% to 1.3% magnesium, 0.8% to 1.4% manganese, less than or equal to 0.6% silicon, less than or equal to 0.1% titanium, less than or equal to 0.05% vanadium, less than or equal to 0.25% zinc, and less than or equal to 0.15% other.   
     
     
         9 . The single-use container of  claim 8 , wherein an innermost layer of the sidewall comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         10 . The single-use container of  claim 8 , wherein:
 the rim comprises a flat top surface;   the sheet comprises a stacking lip positioned below the rim; and   the sidewall comprises an inward tapering sidewall positioned below the stacking lip.   
     
     
         11 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, a first lubricant layer, a varnish layer, a printing ink layer, a primer layer, and an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         12 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy, and a coextrusion coating. 
     
     
         13 . The single-use container of  claim 8 , wherein the filter comprises a paper filter. 
     
     
         14 . The single-use container of  claim 8 , wherein the aluminum alloy comprises aluminum 3104-H19. 
     
     
         15 . A single-use container comprising:
 a sheet comprising:
 a rim; 
 a sidewall; and 
 a bottom; 
   a lid affixed to the rim; and   a filter dividing the single-use container into a first compartment and a second compartment, wherein the first compartment contains coffee grounds;   wherein the sheet comprises an aluminum alloy with a composition of 93.2% to 95.8% aluminum, less than or equal to 0.1% chromium, less than or equal to 0.15% copper, less than or equal to 0.35% iron, 4% to 5% magnesium, 0.2% to 0.5% manganese, less than or equal to 0.2% silicon, less than or equal to 0.1% titanium, less than or equal to 0.25% zinc, and less than or equal to 0.15% other.   
     
     
         16 . The single-use container of  claim 15 , wherein an innermost layer of the sidewall comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         17 . The single-use container of  claim 15 , wherein:
 the rim comprises a flat top surface;   the sheet comprises a stacking lip positioned below the rim; and   the sidewall comprises an inward tapering sidewall positioned below the stacking lip.   
     
     
         18 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, a first lubricant layer, a varnish layer, a printing ink layer, a primer layer, and an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy. 
     
     
         19 . The single-use container of  claim 1 , wherein: the sheet comprises, from outside to inside, an aluminum layer, wherein the aluminum layer comprises the aluminum alloy, and a coextrusion coating. 
     
     
         20 . The single-use container of  claim 15 , wherein the aluminum alloy comprises aluminum 5182-H48.
