Abstract
An inground pump assembly for use with a fluid circulation system for a body of water includes a pump assembly having at least one ionizer port; a filter assembly receiving fluid from an inlet port, and at least one cap configured and dimensioned to engage and close an ionizer port.

1 . A liquid pump for use with a fluid circulation system for a body of water, comprising:
an inground pump assembly having at least three ports, including an inlet port for directing water into the pump; an outlet port for directing water out of the pump; and at least one ionizing port in fluid communication with the fluid circulation system and configured to receive an ionizer or a cap.
2 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the ionizing port protrudes in a direction perpendicular to the inlet port.
3 . The liquid pump of claim 2 , further comprising a first ionizing port and a second ionizing ports, wherein the first ionizing port and second ionizing port extend in opposite directions.
4 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the ionizing port protrudes in a direction opposite to the inlet port.
5 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the ionizing port protrudes from a pipe connected to the outlet port.
6 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the inground pump assembly is configured to be coupled with a motor.
7 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , additionally comprising an ionizer configured to be coupled onto said at least one ionizing port.
8 . The liquid pump of claim 7 , additionally comprising a cap configured to be coupled onto said at least one ionizing port.
9 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the ionizing port has internal and external threads.
10 . The liquid pump of claim 8 , wherein the cap is configured to engage with said at least one ionizing port.
11 . The liquid pump of claim 7 , wherein the ionizer is configured to engage with said at least one ionizing port.
12 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein the inground pump assembly includes a casing having an inner shell and an outer shell.
13 . The liquid pump of claim 12 , wherein the inner shell and outer shell are concentric and spaced apart from each other.
14 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein said liquid pump is connectable to an underground water circulation system for a swimming pool.
15 . The liquid pump of claim 1 , wherein said inground pump assembly further includes a filter.Cited by (0)
